A Toy Story
So this is Emperor Zurg, you might know him from Toy Story 2. My 4 year old loves those movies. For his birthday he got a Buzz Lightyear Lego Starship that came with this little Lego Zurg, complete with the Rocket Launcher you see in his hand. On day my son has Zurg up on a pedestal made of blocks and he's begging me to play with him. He wants me to be Zurg shooting up at Buzz in his ship.
Now I don't particulary have anything against guns, but I do have a problem playing shooting games with children who don't yet have the capability to understand the seriousness of real life and death. He's almost there but not quite yet. He also likes Rock and Roll, likes to sing, and likes to dance. So I twist the lego gun around and tell him I don't want to play if I have to shoot Buzz, instead, I wanna rock!
Buzz and Zurg spent the rest of the afternoon singing and jumping around to Twisted Sister.
