Housing Situation
Flying out to Chicago over the weekend of August 22nd to look at houses/condos. If all goes well, we'll find a great place and put an offer in that weekend. However, escrow takes at least 30 days; I'll need to find a place to live for potentially a few weeks for September and maybe into early October. In the interim, I'll throw most of my stuff into storage in Chicago.
Moving Plan and Dates
I plan on renting a Uhaul (truck or Jeep-towed trailer) or Penske truck. The bike will be inside either. However, I don't know what's involved in moving cross-country. I'm thinking I'll be heading out of California before August 26th, which is when I have to hand over keys to my apartment. I still need to find someone to travel to Chicago with, or I'll be heading out with my dad.
So, does anyone have any advice for moving more than half way across the country?
