Okay so I finally got to see Brokeback Mountain. We had to drive all the way into Houston to see it. It was very very worth it! This little itty bitty theater was in River Oaks and it only plays indie movies. It was small but a beautiful little place. It even does Rocky Horror Picture Show with the live cast, so I will be going back Feb. 11th when they do it again. But anyway, back to the movie. I am sick of hearing it just referred to as the Gay Cowboy Movie. It is so much more than that. It was a sad and angst-ridden love story, and if people could look past the fact that it is two guys then maybe it would get the full recognition it deserves. But atleast it is nominated for Best Movie at the Golden Globes, and Heath Ledger is nominated for Best Actor. I can't understand why Jake Gyllenhaal didn't get a nod as well. But I will be rooting for Heath tomorrow night!
