Some Devil
DaveGushing ahead...YE BE WARNED!!!
So I go through these phases where if I haven't listened to DMB or Dave in any form for awhile that when I finally sit down and listen again it is like overload and DaveGushing follows. Today's DaveGushing is about his words. The way that man describes anything is so beautiful. I actually teared up while listening to "Stay or Leave" today, call me a loser, but I prefer to think of myself as a sucker. Anyway, the 1 1/2 hour drive home today was full of Dave in all forms (DMB, solo, with Tim) and I found myself rewinding more than a few times just to listen to his words fill the car. Here's just a few from the drive:

Kissing whiskey by the fire
With the snow outside
And when the summer comes
In the river, swim at midnight

Touch the bottom, starry night
With muddy toes"

"There’s an emptyness inside her
And she’d do anything to fill it in
And though it’s red blood bleeding from her now
It's more like cold blue ice in her heart
She feels like kicking out all the windows
And setting fire to this life
She could change everything about her, using colors bold and bright
But all the colors mix together to grey"
"Lying on the roof counting
The suns that fill the sky I wonder is
Someone in the heavens
Looking back down on me, I'll never know
So much space to believe
Funny when you're small
The moon follows the car
Does no one but you see
Hey, the moon is chasing me"
"We are all sitting, legs crossed round a fire
My yellow flame she dances
Tequila drinking, oh our minds will wonder to wonderous places"
