So I got the first Fables. I agree, gorgeous but a little hokey. I like the adult side of the fable characters though, especially the word "cocksmanship". !!

Sky Doll is so neat. I'm blown away by the drawing, like how one person can draw characters in so many ways (stylistically, but also emotions, actions, perspective, etc.) while keeping them so distinct. Somehow the abundance of boobs is really appealing while not being gratuitous? It seems like there are just two books(?) so I'm a bit shy to get the second yet.

Bone, Sandman, Tank Girl, FLCL, also great.

Oh neat, I'm glad you like them! Sky Doll is Italian, I don't know if I mentioned that? So the serials are kind of hard to get. There are teeeechnically 4 out. The prologue, 1,2 and 3. Plus two books of stories written/drawn by other artists. I'm kind of obsessed, so I really have like EVERYTHING Sky Doll. The newest serial is coming out soon. Barbucci, the artist, is on Blogspot, actually. http://alessandrobarbucci.blogspot.com/ It's all in Italian but he posts art/talks about when his comics are coming out. In Italian. alas.

seconding the meek and abominable. i also recommend rice boy, pang the shaolin monk, cheap thrills [furry, but wellwritten] yu+me and girlyyy. if you dont mind lesbian stuff on the last two. uh. yeah
i watch many more,but most seem to be fairly slow moving, or arent getting any more interesting. ill post more if i remember.
