So, recently it's come to my attention that I have alot of anime. I am not some otaku fan boy, it's tru, i'm not. Granted I like cartoon's, and I would watch western cartoons if they didn't suck so much now a days. There was a time when people use to make quality cartoons on a regular basis. When saturday morning was a smorg of animated goodies, and you couldn't figure out which channel you wanted to watch.
Now... I occassionally stop to watch a cartoon I've not seen on ytv, or teletoon, or another channel that's playing it, and I shake my head.
This is one of the reason's I watch anime, I realize it's not for everyone, but I like some of it. In japan the majority of television watched and comics read are by adults, being that it's a big rat race and children are more concerned with school work. Granted there are some children's shows out there. But the majority of anime is directed at adults. So they have indepth storylines and character development that you'd expect to see in a television show or movie.
The shows that I watch follow along the genre of things that I enjoy: Action, comedy, science fiction, fantasy... ninja's (lol). And alot of the storyline's are wonderful because they're the type of things that you'd only normally find in a good book. Stories that would be much harder to tell in a live action film, or much much more expensive. So you find these sort of things animated. Which I have no problem with. I still find the sense of wonder I did as a child from watching these things, maybe it's because I enjoy drawing, maybe I'm nostalgic, or I'm just trying to stay young at heart. I'm not really searching for an explanation, I just enjoy it.
Either way, I digress from my point. I hadn't been aware that I had so much anime. And hadn't thought about it much until someone mentioned it to me. Seems I've been pimping the stuff to people, like a sort of crack they get in disc format. Other people even whom seem to be members of clubs that watch this stuff, and have hard times getting their hands on large quantities seemed amazed that after the mention of some rarer shows they'd wanted to see, that I either had ALL of it already, or within a day or two had it.
My collection, atleast that I've kept so far on my harddrive, or burned to disc is as follows:
-Full Metal Alchemist (complete, all episodes)
-Naruto (Complete up to date, 194 episodes, 2 movies, 4 television specials)
