I am leaving on a jet plan to the West Coast tomorrow morning, until August 8th. The hotel thing was a bit messed up, but has resolved itself nicely so I will be downtown as originally planned for a reasonably priced, shared room. After Van, then I will be visiting Lyn and Colin in Seattle, so it will be relaxing, and a change of pace! Good times!
At the same time, some sad news - not directly personal, but for friends and acquaintances, so I'll be thinking positive thoughts for them, and hope things get better soon.
I expect to be able to check e-mail because I will probably bring my computer, or check into an internet lab ... or maybe I'll just leave my laptop ... depends how the packing goes. As my flight from here leaves at 6:00 am, I will have myself packed the night before.
Now to check my list of to do's.

PS: The 7th Harry Potter book was great! I was going to save it for my travels, but got to a certain point and just had to read on ... sad and happy to finish the book. More later once everyone else has caught up!
