at long last, an update
* I'm sorry for the lack of posts from me lately. I've been DYING of allergies and have been a bit busier with school work as the semester winds down. It is not a good combination. Also, due to aforementioned allergies (which will only get worse as Spring goes on, ughh) I am super groggy all the time. But the extra-powerful inhaler I take to get me through the Spring makes me really shaky. So I'm in this weird, groggy/jittery limbo. Do not want.
* Other RL things, I'm applying for a promotion at work, because I need more money/hours. My workload at school is still pretty light, so I think I'll be able to handle a full-time job since I'm technically a part-time student now. Which, let me tell you, is SO MUCH BETTER. Full-time grad school is a beast. Part-time gives me an actual life! And this new program seems to be going by super fast. I'm excited about taking the literacy courses coming up, and for my clincal sequence in the Fall when I get to tutor the chillens. :D Oh also, my graduation ceremony is in May (I graduated for reals in December and there wasn't a ceremony) and I'm excited!
* So, HUNGER GAMES TOMORROW. I will be at the midnight show, trying not to be a total spaz so I don't get into the local papers this time. XDD I won't even be in costume though (Hogwarts cloak, I miss you. *sigh*) so I doubt I will stand out enough. :P I'm going to have to take an afternoon nap so I can make it til midnight, LOL. Lame.
* TV talk: New Girl continues to be amazing every week. I miss Parks & Rec and I think the enforced haitus so Community could come back is lame. But I may just be saying this because I don't watch Community. *shrug* But in general I've always hated how NBC schedules their shows (will never forgive them for dropping Scrubs. NEVER!). I'm two weeks behind on Being Human (US), but maybe I'll catch up before Monday. Click the cut for finale talk, because this was a great week for finales!
The Walking Dead. HOLY. CRAP. That episode was a million times better than just about every horror movie I've seen in recent years. Just. WOW. They pulled out all the stops for this one. I kinda saw the we're-all-carriers reveal coming (I had been thinking since the zombie attack at the school that there's something up with the virus), but I was kinda hoping for something more...I dunno. I can't even explain it. But it's scary because that means even MORE zombies (yay!). I'm glad we got to leave the farm, I think it was time to move on. I just like the momentum of being on the run, and we have a new group now so it'll be good. I love Daryl so much. I love Glenn and Maggie. I continue to hate Lori, lol. Oh, and Andrea gets to be badass and have a new badass BFF! I don't read the comics so I don't know who it is. Exciting!
The River. YOU GUYS. If you aren't watching this show, YOU NEED TO. I'm sure it will be on Netflix eventually, and it's only 8 episodes. The whole season was fantastic, but ajshfkjahsfkjahksjf THAT FINALE. *dies* Exorcisms scare me, like REALLY scare me. I cannot handle them. I was watching that whole thing through my fingers. But it was AWESOME. Demon!Lincoln was so cool. I was sad that he killed Jonas (HOW AWESOME WAS THAT SCENE AHHHH), but then again Jonas killed Lincoln first, so. XDD I always loved Lincoln, so I was glad to get him back in the end. But damn, that shit was scary. The seance or ritual or whatever that Jahel did was creepy, man. I love her. Also, LENA. I got some serious SPN vibes when they first started trying the exorcism and when demon!Lincoln put her up on the ceiling. But this was way darker than the SPN brand of demon banishing. Oh god. So creepy and awesome. But I didn't like that Lena was all mad at Lincoln at the end. It wasn't him doing any of that! And why was he apologizing in the first place?? Ugh. Oh, and the trees moving together at the end to change the river? AWESOME. That demon is after them now. Shit's only gonna get worse. Aaaahahahaha. PLEASE get renewed, show. PLEASE. It's my new favorite thing.
