fic meme

An end of the year fic meme, stolen from soda_and_capes. I might do an RL meme later too, but obviously fic comes first. XDD

Favorite: SO HARD. I love every fic like it's my baby. XDD Here's a few:

such a little thing, in which Richard and Miles bond over their necklaces.

I also really like hold on with wires, for some good ol' Dean/Cas schmoop. <3

Oh, and also possibly I like the thrill, a series of 10 Richard/Miles drabbles I wrote to prompts from a random generator.

Also every drabble I wrote for lost_in_108 pretty much, lol. XDD

Best: Ugh, this question is so hard. :(( I'm really bad at judging my own writing. Here's a few possibilities:

Dreams Upon Waking, which was really fun to write and is one of my more island-y of LOST fics (even though it happens post-s6). I liked this idea a lot, and I tried to stay true to the nature of LOST in which not everything is explained and things are left open-ended. Plus it's one of my favorite depictions of Richard/Miles that I've written, even though their relationship isn't the driving force of the fic.

These Fragile Things, a darker Richard/Miles fic in which Richard is reclusive after leaving the island and thinks he's going crazy or being haunted by Jacob, and Miles tries to help him. Sex ensues. The end. XDD

Also, I'm pretty proud of my big bang for lost_land, the ghost next door.

Most underappreciated by the universe: I hate this question, because I really do appreciate and love every comment on my fics. <33 But maybe saying yes, because I loveloveloved writing marriage!fic for my favorite boys (Richard/Miles). But this fandom is not so active anymore, so I'm never surprised when a LOST fic doesn't get a lot of comments these days. :((

Most fun to write: I had tons of fun with drabbles and one-sentence fics this year, but as for longer fics I think the most fun was Three Men, A Dog, and the Apocalypse. It was my first ever zombie!AU, and I loved writing it so much. Maybe also because it had Richard/Miles spooning in the backseat, hee. :P

Sexiest: Anytime Will Do, a Dean/Cas pwp that I'm quite fond of. :3 And I also really like Close, a Richard/Miles fic I wrote for my kiss table. It was fun to try to make it sexy without having them actually have sex, lol.

"Holy crap, that’s wrong even for you": I dunno, I didn't write anything too weird this year! Maybe let the only sound be the overflow, because there was lots of angst and Richard/Jacob ghostsex.

Fic that shifted my own perception of the characters: I think we are all going forward, none of us are going back. It was the first longer piece I wrote from Kate's POV, and it can be hard for me to get a handle on her because she's unpredictable even on the show. But I liked writing her dealing with Jack's death, and her friendship with Sawyer and the other boys, and her wanting to stay and get through it together rather than run away.

Hardest to do: Possibly get lost and then get found, because it was the last ever lost_in_108 and it made me sad and I put it off forever and couldn't decide what to write. :((((

I also had some trouble with rain down, rain down, because I didn't exactly want it to be pwp, and I had trouble coming up with a Deathly Hallows AU and it didn't turn out exactly as planned. But I still like it anyway. :P

Biggest disappointment: Ugh. Maybe something in the way, another LOST sideways!fic. I wrote this for Five Acts, and I like the premise a lot and what I managed to do with Miles in this fic, but I'm not crazy about the ending. I wanted to give it the happy-shiny sideways!verse ending, but I don't know, I think it fell flat.

Biggest surprise: Most definitely city with no children, because I didn't think I'd ever write Richard/Alex, or another LOST zombie!AU. But I really enjoyed writing it, and it got really long even though it was for Five Acts (what is this commentfic of which you speak?) because I just had to do it justice.

Most telling: Ah, that would be longing to belong, because it was the first longer femslash fic I'd ever written (I had done a few drabbles before) and it was my first real attempt at dealing with sexuality in fic after coming out, so. There's that. And it made me love Ginny/Luna to pieces, and to be completely vain, I'm a little attached to that fic. <3

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?: MORE. Especially considering I was going to grad school full time! This is entirely due to the awesome lost_in_108, which I miss horribly. :((

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?: If you had told me in January that I'd be writing Supernatural fic, I would had given you a confused-Castiel-headtilt. XDD

Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.): Um, not really risks I don't think. I wrote some new pairings like Kate/Sayid and Kate/Claire, I also wrote some Jacob and Esau which I find intimidating sometimes. And maybe I should consider zombie!AU's to be risks, I dunno. XDD

Do you have any fanfic goals for the New Year?: To get drabblefix up and running so I can write lots of drabbles, to finish some WIPs, to not let LOST die. :(((

Wow that took a long time. XDD Now I'm off to do some more ficcing before I have to go to bed. Ughhh.

ilu miles straume, memes, i pray to castiel, i want a spinoff, richard/miles, nerding, ramblings, links, ficcing, ships, richard mf alpert, new years
