In case you missed my on-air debut at EQX, here's my list of Top 4 Songs!

1. Mumford and Sons- Roll Away Your Stone
stars hide your fires, these here are my desires, and I won't give them up to you this time around

Easily the best new band to hit the scene in the last few years. I adore every single one of their songs, and I was torn between this one and "The Cave," but ultimately chose "Roll Away Your Stone" for the hopeful and happier tone. This band is musically perfect, and for only 4 guys they manage to do amazing things. I can't get enough of the banjo, and Marcus pounding on the drum with one foot while he sings and plays guitar. Oh, and don't get me started on Marcus's voice, and the sheer emotion he puts behind all the lyrics. I would DIE to see this band live.

2. Arcade Fire- The Suburbs
So can you understand why I want a daughter while I'm still young, I wanna hold her hand and show her some beauty before this damage is done, but if it's too much to ask, if it's too much to ask, then send me a son

There are some songs that are so beautiful they make me want to cry every time I hear them. Pretty much every song on Arcade Fire's new album does this to me, but this one especially (also "We Used to Wait" which you should go listen to!). There's something so nostalgic in the lyrics, and I feel like it's an anthem to our generation. Music like this could only have happened in this day and age.

3. Company of Thieves- Oscar Wilde
live like it's the style, we waltz on your front porch

God, I've talked about this band so many times and I still cannot get enough of them! This was their first big single, and I remember EQX just EXPLODING with it, everybody was calling in to find out who this band was. Their albums are amazing and innovative, and they are even better live. Genevieve has one of the best voices I've ever heard, and is totally sweet and charming, to boot. They are the little band that could.

4. Florence and the Machine- Dog Days are Over
and I never wanted anything from you, except everything you had and what was left after that too

Florence is too perfect for this world, I'm really starting to believe that she is some kind of heavenly being. While I love her darker songs, her uplifting ones are the ones that stick with me. There is something so pure and happy and innocent about "Dog Days are Over," like you've been climbing and climbing and have finally made it up that hill. I plan to play this song on repeat when I graduate. ;D
