ATTENTION FELLOW TRUE BLOOD FANS. I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE. Ahem. My professor, that I have class with once a week (with a whopping class size of 3...that's right, me and two other students...rock on), HE KNOWS CHARLAINE HARRIS. AUTHOR OF THE SOOKIE STACKHOUSE BOOKS. WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT. HOWWWWWW SOOOO AWESOMMMMMMMME??? We were talking about popular lit vs classic lit (and how most of the things we consider classics now were popular books in their day, so not to discredit popular lit) and we always get on the topic of Twilight and how it's not, um, very "literary" lol. And one of my fellow classmates defended it, because she's a fan, and I went "Pshh, girl, read the True Blood books. They are awesome and fun and so so so so so much better than Twilight and also smutty." To which professor goes "LOL I know her! She's a neat lady!" Me: O______O "WHAT." XDD It was glorious. I tried not to divert into fangirl squeeage at this point (as this is a Master's class, lol), but but but HOW COOL IS THAT. I should like...ask for her email address or something. XDDD Or at least have him pass along that he has a student who loves her books and who thrusts them upon anyone who will listen. That would be enough for me. :DDDDDDDDD OMG still in shock, for realsies. And I don't even have a True Blood icon atm (it's offseason, lol).

ANYWHO. YES, TONIGHT'S CLASS WENT WELL. XDD Highlight of my week.

Okay, here's the next day of that meme thingie. Cut for length.

Day Four: Seven (semi)interesting things you've pondered or thought about recently.

1. Pending student teaching placements. I will be student teaching in the Fall. As in, in September. My own class and my own students and doing actual English lessons and yay! I'm super excited, and a little nervous, but mostly excited. This whole grad school thing is flying by, let me tell ya.

2. Today's music. Whenever I listen to anything other than the one radio station I like, I just go into a furious rage. Where has the talent gone today??? The Super Bowl halftime show is the perfect example: all lights and dancing and autotune. *gags self* I am losing respect for these types of so called "artists" so much lately. And I can name, off the top of my head, 10 modern bands today that may not be as popular but are a million times more talented as singers, songwriters, and musicians than Beiber, Swift, and Fergie combined. Rant over.

3. Big Bang. Yes, the Big Bang for lost_land is looming closer and closer. Every time I get a random plotbunny and think "when I have time I'm gonna write this!" I have to stop myself and say "Big Bang fic comes first! Write nothing else until it's complete!" :(( I've done the math with the remaining points (I already have 45/100 complete in fanmixes) and the fic needs to be about 1,800 words. Which isn't too bad (there's a reason to the madness, I used the fanmixes to knock down the word count). I'm going to write one fic, even though we can do multiple ones, because I think better that way. I have a general idea for it, and I think once I sit and start writing it will all come together (I'm not usually a planner when it comes to fic).

4. Summer Jobs. For the past two summers I have been a camp counselor for the local town's summer camp. I love it, it's my dream job. I get paid (not quite enough, the only thing that makes it not the best "dream job") to do arts and crafts, to go on field trips to the zoo, to play kickball, and to go swimming. It's the best, and I love my campers (I spoiled them rotten with goodie bags on the last day of camp). However, this summer my situation is a bit different. Firstly, I will be taking 3 summer courses rather than 2 like last year. This is a full semester, and I will be very busy. Secondly, I need to finish up my fieldwork hours for school, so I need to be available during the day for observations. Thirdly, I took my current job because the camp didn't hire me for their before and after school program during the school year. If they had, I would be doing that now and would stay there and work around the other stuff as much as possible. But even if I wanted to, I can't just quit my job for the summer (also I am making a little bit more money here, which isn't much but it adds up when you're broke). It sucks. But maybe once I graduate I can work for the camp full time until I get a real job? I would prefer it to this job.

5. Sherlock Holmes. What else is new, right? XDD I've been pimping out Sherlock to anyone I can, even the nay-sayers that don't think they will like a modern Holmes. I tell everyone I can about it, because it's amazing. I've also had to defend the RDJ/Judesie movie to many people lately, because when I bring up how excited I am for the second one they groan a little. WHATEVS it's gonna be awesome. And I'm not the only book-fan who liked the RDJ version. I've also been encouraging friends to read the original stories, namely "Hound of the Baskervilles." Just read it. Thank me later. :P

6. Vacations. God I need one. XDD The boy and I don't have a lot of money, so we can't afford anything too big (even though I really want to go to Harry Potter World when I graduate *SIGH*). But my parents are renting a beach house for a week in the summer, so maybe we can drive up there for a weekend or something. I need to feel beach sand under my toes and have no responsibilities at all. :)

7. Spring. I'm so sick of winter. Winter can suck it. And I'm not one of those people who constantly harps about the weather and how cold it is and blah blah blah. I get it. I live in New York, I know what winter feels like and how long it lasts, lol. But I'm so ready for Spring. Even though I always get horribly sick every Spring because everything I'm allergic to blooms all at once (POLLEN OH GOD). But, at this point, I'm like "bring it on." XD

Day Five: Six things you are glad you did.
Day Six: Five books/movies/tv series/etc that you'd recommend
Day Seven: Four silly quirks
Day Eight: Three pet peeves
Day Nine: Two things for which you're proud of yourself.
Day Ten: One secret plan.

That's all I got. I was going to do some homework tonight (new goal is to not save it all for the weekend and beginning of the week anymore). But I'm tired, and I'm getting out of work early tomorrow anyway (first the boss asked me to stay late, then said "nah, leave at noon" so I'm cool with that!). Might either work on Big Bang fic, or just chill out and watch some LOST. The choices I have to make, lol. :P
