All the lovely people..

Went to visit Will in Macomb, IL on the weekend - got the 'whistle-stop' tour of the town, which included the square, the park, and the (Super) WalMart... Was really good to see Will and Bridget again, as I was getting homesick again (yeah, it's not home, but they are familiar people :).

Took 3.5 hours getting to Macomb via several freeways (as it's on the far West of Illinois, not far from the stateline), as one of Will's friends from the college he's attending now (Western Illinois University) gave me a lift the whole way in his Ford Probe. Nice guy called Bojan (Boy-an - I think I got the spelling right), originally from Bosnia. We went to see my first American football game, complete with artillery howitzer on the field...? Then we headed to another one of Will's friends' houses, where we ended up playing poker until late. Pity I had to catch the damn train back to Chicago at about 7am, as some of them headed to a riverboat-casino 40mins drive away - they take the gaming a little seriously, and it would have been 'interesting' :)
Another 3 hours back on the train(s), chatting to randoms and reading; and finally walking 4 miles home (no mean feat in the suburbs ;) to the apartment.
Now all I have to do is pack for Thursday... soon I'll be home!! :)

I have some pictures up, finally, from some of the stuff we've been up to. You can find some of them here: Pictures of Chicago - I'll be adding to them slowly.
