Next on Lifetime…
Welcome to another installment of my views on anything brought to you by my friends’ list on LJ.
I’m pushing 27 and I still don’t feel old. When I was a kid I thought one day I would wake up and be my dad. I’d hate everything watched, read, or listened to by teenagers. I would act differently and enjoy other stuff. All the stuff above has not happened. 30 is creeping up on my ready to slit my childhood’s throat. I keep waking up wondering is today the day. Just like then you are sick and you wake up in the morning and think I wonder if I’m over this cold only to sit up and realize you still feel like crap. I remember this happening once before. The first time I had sex. I thought I would wake up and boom I would be a man. I would look and feel different. Sadly that didn’t happen. It went more like 3-4 minutes of the most uncomfortable sex ever. I got off and boom. I was still a stupid teenager.
I was thinking about this due to the fact that I want to see the Harry Potter movie and I was arguing with one of my friends the other day about how I can like a children’s book. I was trying to explain to him that not liking something based on what others have told you how to feel is silly. I decided to compile a list of things that I do that other computer dorks hate:
Rap - I love it unlike pseudo-geniuses that claim to listen to only classical. I hate those people they think that by listening to some orchestra playing Bach that their IQ is going to somehow double for every hour they listen. They need all of their CDs broken and shoved under their fingernails and beaten to death. Please don’t come to me with your bullshit about how classical is the nectar of the gods. It’s garbage. You know it’s garbage and the only reason you listen to that tripe is feign intelligence.
Harry Potter - This one is iffy. You got some dorks who love it and the rest despise it. They talk about how it’s a children’s book and for idiots. I didn’t go up to you and say “Harry Potter is the shit and you’re a goddamn idiot for not liking it.” So don’t come to me with the opposite. I don’t care if you like it or not. Please don’t bring up JRR Tolkien and how he invented the fantasy genre and how LoTR is the best thing ever. I started to read the books and guess what they sucked. I don’t care that he invented it. Abner Doubleday invented baseball does that make him the best player ever? Hell no. So don’t bring that bullshit to me. The next cum-drunk gutterwhore to say that to me is going to get smacked in the mouth.
Sports - I like sports. Baseball. Football. Hockey. Basketball. I’m tired of listening to people tell me that sports are dumb. I’m sorry you sucked at them and were always pants during P.E. class. I don’t really care to hear the opinion of the guy that was picked last in every sport. It’s not your cup of tea…great…wonderful…now go sit down and leave me alone. Thank you.
