The Federal Government has started randomly seizing laptops, hard drives, and memory cards in airports.

Seriously, America? Has it come to this? The government can now legally (ha!) take your laptop, your data storage devices, and any related paraphenalia, access it, COPY IT, and give it back when it feels like it. If you look at the examples ( Read more... )

One of the things that really gets me about it is that they try to pass it off as a security concern. The TSA is there to stop people from bringing explosives and weapons on planes. EVEN IF your data is used in the commission of a crime, or could be, it poses no risk to the FLIGHT, so why is it the TSA's problem? Law enforcement is supposed to handle computer crime, not baggage screeners.

I hate to be 'that guy,' but eventually people are going to start fighting back. It's inevitable when they start pushing more and more ridiculous on the general public.

last year i had my hair out and i had a metal hair pick with me, i forgot i had it on me... THEY LET ME GO THOUGH THE CHECKPOINT WITH A POINTY METAL PICK!!! i could have stabbed someone with it... they made me mad but kinda relived... i couldnt believe that
