Went and saw Narnia last night. I loved it. I can't really compare it to the first for a variety of reason, mainly that I haven't seen The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe for ages. The eye candy was pretty good too. Prince Caspian = tres hot.
Again, I've been pretty AWOL. Work is pretty much my life, therefore I don't really have much of substance to write about. Until today. I just got back from the bank to put some more of my tip money from the hotel into my savings account. That money will not be touched again until a certain goal is reached. I have been researching for quite a while now a little trip I want to take in 2010 or 2011. Where am I going?
Preliminary list of places I want to see:
-Ecuador
-Peru
-Chile
-Argentina
-Brazil
-South Africa
-Namibia
-Botswana
-Zambia(Victoria Falls in particular)
-Egypt
-Europe(too many countries to list)
-Scandinavia
-Russia
-China(Arriving from Russia via the Trans-Siberian Railway. That's a must for me)
-India
-Hong Kong
-Vietnam
-Cambodia
-Thailand
-Malaysia
-Singapore
-Bali
-The Philippeans
-Australia
-New Zealand
The list is very general and will probably change a hundred times before I book it, and a hundred more times while on the road. Once I have about $10,000 put away I will talk to a travel agent specializing in Round-The-World travel and work out the details. For one year on the road, all transportation, lodging, food, etc included, I'd need a minimum of $12,000. Basic rule, I've found from other peoples experience, is to have at least $1000 a month. I'm aiming for $15,000 total.
I'm one third of the way there already.
And it's only been one and a half months of actual saving.
Hence why I am cutting back on doing lots of expensive things. . . and why you'll see me picking up pennies I find in the street. $4 canadian can feed me for a whole day in Asia.
So yeah, once I push "post to pangaeanshift" it's out there for all to see. And it'll be that much harder to back out of doing it. Call it an added incentive to not chicken out.
Oh, and for those people wondering. I'm doing it with just a backpack. In hostels. No five star hotels or resorts for me!
