Voting time

So we're in the middle of an election. Always exciting, at least to me it is. I'm in the constituency of Martensville, and as such, the outcome is pretty much already decided. That's probably why I don't expect to see Ms.Nancy Heppner of the Sask Party really out there campaigning. She knows she has won. And no, I'm not being cynical. The Sask Party/PC before that have won this seat every election for the past 40 odd years. Maybe the sudden influx of younger families will lessen the gap, but I am unsure as to whether this will make a big enough difference to kick Nancy out of her comfy chair.

Be that as it may, I'm still voting. Just for whom I'm not sure. I know from history, and listening to my family(they like to bitch) that the last time Saskatchewan was doing so good in a boom, we were in an NDP government. Same thing there. Years of NDP, suddenly a boom, suddenly people want a "change". So they vote in Grant Devine and the PC party. That went to hell in a handbasket. My dad's words back in March "If we go to an election again, Saskatchewan better not fuck up again and change governments. We need stability." And I agree with him there. A change in government could make it a wee bit unstable. But at the same time, a change of government could be good. Bring some fresh ideas into the mix.

I just don't like Nancy Heppner's arrogance. So I'm not voting for her regardless.

I think I fall into the group that says "We need a change, but I don't like the Sask Party, and we definately need someone in there for accountability." So I'm thinking I'm going to vote my conscience and vote Liberal.

Or NDP as it's Chris Gallaway.

Honestly, in Martensville, it won't matter too much. It's more of a statement.

Nancy, you suck.
