[Canas doesn't really go to the pool that often, if he ever has to begin with, but conveniently enough that was where he found himself tonight.

She looked so pretty there! Canas stopped and observed the girl by the pool. She looked like a sprite, whoever she was, and was... she was singing, too! Usually the magic wielder wasn't the sort to just go right on up and approach someone, but his curiosity bested him in this case.

He casually made his presence known, but tried to make it seem as though he were more focused on the stars.]

[Oh, someone was here! Neris certainly didn't mind having company. She smiled, mostly to herself, as she continued singing for a little while before deciding to speak out.]

[The shaman turned his attention back to Neris, smiling.]

Yes, it is. [He paused, wondering what he should say next.] I've never seen you before. What's you're name?

[Oh my, what a pleasant man! She wished he'd come a little more closer though... It was pretty bright with the moon out, but it was still too dark to make out who it was.]

Ah, I've just arrived here! My name is Neris, it's a pleasure to meet you, young sir~!

[He laughed. It had been a long time since he'd been called young, but he wouldn't object. He was only 25, after all, but what with a son and a wife he wondered if that could be the very reason he was no longer regarded as someone young.]

Really? So you're new here? As a student, or perhaps a teacher -- oh, I'm sorry, pardon my manners. My name is Canas. [Luckily, he was slowly coming closer, so he didn't seem so shady as before.]

[Neris doesn't know you're older than her, and obviously doesn't know you have a family.]

Ah, I will be a teacher~ A choir teacher, actually. [She finishes with a giggle, and smiles as she hears the other introduce himself and come closer. Such a gentleman~]

How about you? You look like you'd be a teacher~ [But after seeing how Selene was a student, anyone could be a student or teacher...]

What a suitable subject. Choir, I mean.

Me? I'm actually a student teacher. You see, all of my areas of expertise already have a teacher, so I thought, since I know a little about a lot of things, why not learn more through offering my two cents and listening to the professor at the same time? So far it's gone very well. [He beamed.]

Thank you! I think my close friend back at my homeland would be more suitable for teaching choir, but I'll try my best~

[Ah... Sitting down to learning things wasn't what Neris really liked to do. He sounds like Selene, almost. Maybe the two would get along very nicely~]

Ah that sounds very accomplishing~! [She smiles for respect.] But it's never good to be inside all day~

Wouldn't reading so much cause strain to your eyes? [She easily get that when she looks at a book with so much text...]

[His breath hitched.] Weeell... sometimes. It is worth it, though. My quest in life is to learn as much as I possibly can, and books are an excellent source of information.

Ah, I wish you luck on that!

[Oh maybe she should ask instead of assuming.]

Ah, I almost forgot! One of my friends is into books! Her name is Selene...do you know her?

[Neris tilts her head.] Journal network...? This school has everyone sharing their diaries with each other?

[That's kind of weird... She's imagining people handing their diary notebooks to each other.]

[He laughed.] Umm, kind of. I didn't understand it at first either, but they have strange technology here, as I said before. I haven't the slightest clue how it works, but it allows you to write up a journal entry and suddenly, the rest of the school can see it and leave little responses! It certainly is something else.
