When Yunho peeks into his best friend’s room, he’s more than surprised to see Jaejoong hugging Changmin and Changmin snuggled into the older man’s chest.
“The hell,” Yunho mutters to himself. He shakes his head and closes the door quietly, nonetheless. Things are always peaceful whenever the Soulfighters make a tiny truce.
He goes to the kitchen, taking care to not wake up the sleeping YooSu in the Soulmate’s room, and prepares to make himself coffee.
Yunho takes out a sachet of instant coffee and his favorite mug and something tall bangs into him from behind, wrapping its arms around him and nearly causing Yunho to drop both items in his hands.
“Yunho hyung~!”
Yunho rolls his eyes and untangles himself from Changmin’s hug. “What do you want?” he asks, not taking his eyes off the task of making coffee once.
Changmin stomps on the floor once. “What makes you think I want something?”
“Because you never call me ‘hyung’ and you’re never affectionate,” Yunho says as he ruffles Changmin’s hair lovingly before diverting his attention to add hot water.
“I make such a crappy actor at home,” Changmin grumbles. “And, ew, instant coffee.”
Yunho laughs and ignores the latter statement. “So what is it that you want?”
“What if I say that somebody likes you?”
Yunho chuckles and stirs the mixture. “So?”
“And it’s a boyyy~” Changmin leers.
“Immature,” Yunho teases. “And even more ‘so?’-worthy.”
Changmin grins. “Someone from our company?”
Yunho takes a sip of the coffee and sighs in contentment. “Then I’ll be interested. Who is it?”
“Guess!”
“You are so hyper today,” Yunho rolls his eyes again and feels Changmin’s forehead with his free hand. “Are you sure you’re okay? You’re always sullen in the morning.”
Changmin bats his hand away and frowns. “Just guess!”
Yunho shrugs, not particularly interested. “I don’t know. Jonghyun?”
Changmin gasps in mock horror. “Never say that name in this kind of game! Short people are not allowed!”
Yunho stares at Changmin and touches his forehead again. “Are you sure you’re okay? You’ve always liked Jonghyun.”
“For the sake of this, hyung!” Changmin whines again as he slaps away Yunho’s hand.
Yunho laughs. “Minho?”
“Why SHINee?”
“Geez, you’re so picky,” Yunho rolls his eyes. “I don’t know. You?”
Changmin slaps Yunho on the shoulder. “Yeah right! I gave you three guesses and you blew it, hyung! Now you’ll never know who likes you until the person confesses!”
Jaejoong looks at Changmin in mild confusion as the youngest passes him in the hallway, skipping rather happily. He blinks and goes to the kitchen, smiling sleepily at Yunho.
“Hi, Yun. What’s up with Changmin?” he asks, opening a cupboard and taking out an open pack of milk tea.
Yunho takes another sip and deposits his spoon into the sink. “Don’t know. He told me to guess who has a crush on me.”
Jaejoong hums, taking out an individual sachet and returning the pack inside the cupboard. “Oh, okay.”
Yunho blinks at him. “Wait, I just told you something that will make you dial up the media in a flash and tell them what I told you. You’re not doing anything.”
Jaejoong yawns and fills a pot with water from the sink, boiling it before turning to face Yunho. “So?”
“So? What’s wrong with you?”
Shrugging, Jaejoong goes to the dishwasher and takes out his mug. He tears open the sachet and pours the small grains into his mug. “I know who likes you anyway?”
Yunho snap his eyes to him and almost spills his coffee. “You do? Tell me!”
“Nuh-uh, no way,” Jaejoong whines. “Not before my morning tea. I’ll tell you in the afternoon …”
Yunho watches Jaejoong sink into a chair and rest his head on the table. He’s about to prod Jaejoong awake to pester him some more when he can just see the water bubble and hear Jaejoong snore.
Sighing, Yunho decides to be a good dongsaeng and best friend (you hear that, Jaejoong? Yunho thinks) and turns off the fire, pouring the hot water into Jaejoong’s mug and stirs it, throwing away both the satchel and the remaining water.
He leaves the mug on the table in front of Jaejoong - a bit further than arm’s length because Jaejoong tends to knock everything in his reach when he wakes up - and retires to his room.
He opens the door and sees Changmin sleeping on the bed, hugging his pillow. Yunho notices Bambi’s on the floor - Changmin must’ve kicked her in his sleep.
“I knew you were still sleepy,” Yunho mutters as he takes another sip of his coffee. “Lazy butt - Junsu’s and your room is just a couple of steps away.”
Smiling, Yunho walks over to where Changmin is and plants a loving kiss on his forehead before sitting down and taking a book.
It’s nice having days off as a band.

Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu are playing ridiculous games (like “See who Can Balance a Pencil between Their Upper Lip and Nose the Longest”) when Yunho comes out of nowhere and snatches the eldest away.
“Hey!” Jaejoong flails and Junsu and Yoochun watch in surprise and confusion.
“Just come with me,” Yunho hisses.
The leader drags Jaejoong into his room and pushes him to the bed. Yunho locks the door and turns to face Jaejoong, clearing his throat.
“Okay, so now - oh, you’ve got to be kidding me.”
Jaejoong follows Yunho’s line of sight and coos when he sees Changmin sleeping on Yunho’s bed and snuggling Yunho’s favorite pillow.
“Are you serious?” Yunho groans. “I thought that you went out to buy lunch!”
“Don’t be mean,” Jaejoong nags, running a hand through Changmin’s hair continuously. “It’s rare to see Changmin as the maknae, so live the moment, okay?”
Yunho sighs but agrees. He sits besides Jaejoong and takes in the sleeping maknae’s face.
“So, why did you drag me into your room?”
“Well, it’s afternoon, and we have unfinished business, so …”
Jaejoong snorts and turns to Yunho so he won’t wake Changmin up. “You make it sound as though I left you blue-balled this morning.”
Yunho turns fire-engine red and picks at lint on the sleeves of his old shirt nearby.
“All right, all right, it’s a guy.”
“Um, Changmin has already established that, so …”
Jaejoong laughs. “Okay. You’re very close to him.”
Yunho thinks for a while. “Heechul?”
Jaejoong shakes his head. “Nope.”
“Next hint, please,” Yunho grins.
“It’s a guy.”
Yunho slaps Jaejoong’s shoulder like how Changmin had in the morning and pouts. Jaejoong laughs again. “Okay, okay. He’s, uh … you know him very well.”
Yunho rolls his eyes. “That’s such a crappy hint. I’m very close to him so obviously I know him very well!”
Jaejoong snorts. “Okay, point taken. You see him every day.”
“Heechul?”
“Yunho!”
Yunho pouts. “Uh … Jungsu?”
Jaejoong blinks. “You see Jungsu every day?”
Yunho shrugs. “I’m just throwing names. Help me out here - I only have a guess left.”
Jaejoong nods and thinks for the ultimate hint. It takes some time and Yunho has already cleared the sleeve of lint and is counting the tiny little marks on Changmin’s face.
“Ah,” Jaejoong claps. “He’s younger than you.”
Yunho blinks. Well, that changes everything. He chews on his lower lip for a while and sorts out his options.
The only people he sees everyday who are younger than him are the three maknaes. He knows them all very well and they all are close to each other since they are bandmates. Yunho lets out a frustrated groan and looks around his room for a while, hoping that something will give him an answer.
His eyes land on Changmin.
They widen.
“No way,” Yunho breathes out. “Is it … Changmin?”
Jaejoong grins. “Ding ding ding! We have a winner!”
Yunho stares at Changmin and watches him shift in his sleep and pull his pillow closer, moaning a bit.
“But … this morning he said that it wasn’t him …”
Jaejoong chuckles and hits Yunho on the head lightly. “Of course he’ll lie to you. It’s human nature to lie to your crush when said crush figures out it’s them.”
He brushes away the strands on Changmin’s face. “He actually wants to tell you himself. That and figure it out by yourself,” he says softly. “You can’t have people telling you the answers to everything, you know.”
Jaejoong stands and gives Yunho a smile. “Tell Changmin when he wakes up that I’ll cook instead. He doesn’t need to go down.”
He leaves the room, leaving Yunho to stare at the baby of the band.
Yunho watches a ray of sunlight pour into his room and landing on Changmin. Yunho gulps when it looks like a halo and Changmin looks like an angel. He smiles softly to himself and leans forward, kissing Changmin on the forehead. He pulls away and runs a hand down Changmin’s face.
Changmin shifts and Yunho retracts his hand. The younger one yawns and opens his eyes slowly. He smiles when he sees Yunho. “Hi, hyung,” he says, voice slightly hoarse. He sits up and rubs his eyes. Yunho notices the usage of “hyung” again but doesn’t say anything.
“Good afternoon,” Yunho greets back with a smile. “I thought you went downstairs to buy lunch for us.”
Changmin freezes and Yunho resists the urge to laugh. “Oops,” Changmin mumbles.
“It’s okay. Jaejoong’s cooking.”
“That’s good,” Changmin yawns again.
Yunho hisses a bit. “You look sleepy nowadays. Have you been getting enough rest?”
Changmin nods. “You know me, hyung. I’m the lazy one in the band. I just can’t seem to be awake.”
Yunho laughs. “But still. You’re forever eating and sleeping. I was wondering when you’ll die.”
Changmin pouts and whines and Yunho suddenly hugs him tightly.
“H-hyung?!” Changmin is very much wide awake now, thank you very much. His eyes are wide open and his face is bright red and his body is tense.
“You’re so beautiful, Changmin,” Yunho whispers and Changmin goes a hue redder. “So, so beautiful …”
“Hyung …”
Yunho doesn’t seem like he’ll move anytime soon so Changmin relaxes and rests his chin on Yunho’s shoulder, closing his eyes and taking in the natural scent of the man.
“Changmin-ah,” Yunho tightens his hug and clears his throat. “Can I … can I kiss you?”
Changmin blushes again and nods slightly. Yunho smiles and pulls away from the hug. He cups Changmin’s face and leans forward till their foreheads are touching.
“You’re so beautiful, Changmin-ah,” Yunho whispers and closes his eyes. Changmin follows suit and allows Yunho to press his lips against Changmin’s.
It isn’t magical like how all fairytales illustrate first kisses to be. Maybe that’s because Changmin never thought that Yunho creates magic.
Yunho?
Changmin thought that Yunho made fireworks explode when their lips touched.
The kiss is short and sweet and long and passionate at the same time. Yunho pulls away and opens his eyes slowly. He sees Changmin’s face, eyes still closed and body quite still and still looking so breathtaking.
“I’m glad you like me,” Yunho mumbles, thumbing Changmin’s lips.
Changmin opens his eyes and smiles. “I’m glad you’re too curious for your own good.”
Yunho chuckles. “I’m glad Jaejoong’s my best friend.”
A glint appears in Changmin’s eyes. “I’m glad I was half-asleep.”
Yunho turns bright red and Changmin laughs. He links his arms around Yunho’s neck and pulls him till he ends up on top of him.
“I’m glad you reciprocated my feelings,” Changmin says with a smile.
Yunho smile back. “I’m glad I kissed you again.”
Changmin tilts his head. “We only kissed once.”
Yunho smirks playfully. “Want me to prove you wrong?”
The leader swoops down to kiss Changmin again and Changmin giggles into the kiss. In his head, he thanks Jaejoong and his uncontrollable urges to tell his best friend everything.
There are those fireworks again, he realizes.
But then again, the fireworks were always there whenever Yunho was near him. They just needed to be lit.

A/N: It was originally supposed to be angst, but then I wrote the HoMin part and I liked it so I made it stay. ME GUSTA.
