Yay!
I watched a movie called "Two Brothers" last night with my mom. Needless to say I was crying like a baby by the end of it, mostly from pure rage. The movie reminded me of Gorillas in the Mist in the sense that I felt just HORRIBLE for the animals and hated certain black cancers in our human species called poachers all the more.
Today I was searching for ways I could help the animal kingdom out, as every tiny little thing helps, and I found a site called "Care2" which is a wonderful site where people can make a difference even without donating real money (for people who can't, like myself, it is a blessing!). You can do something as simple as click the daily sponsored links (they do not take you off the site or anything, they just count towards your donation status), or you can do that and get more involved with their petitions, groups, community etc. I have signed 9 petitions so far:)
They have a number of causes you can make a difference in, as well as petitions ranging from animal abuse to music culture.
I really hope some of you join, and i have sent some of you invites via youreljayname@livejournal.com so I hope they go through, and I hope you don't mind.
It feels so good to have finally found a site like this. I have always felt horrible that I could not donate real money to causes in which I support or feel strong about, and now I can do something about it, even if it is in taking baby steps.
