I had grown up in the midst of believing that gods law over us. These divinities are of pure spirit as well as light that maneuver fate by the wave of their hands with their own truly righteous plan for mankind. I do not believe that these gods and goddesses live over us anymore. I believe they now walk among us, driven by the deadly sins that they once forbid us to follow. They are blood thirsty, selfish, and seek dominance over the dead bodies of their worshipers. These beings are nicknamed Voolings or what they are fond of: The Gifted, Magi, Wizards, Witches, etc... It makes no difference. They have abnormal powers outside basic logic that use the energy called Mana. They can be among any species, some more than others; either way, they are the most accountable preceding the last thousand years of war throughout the land of Evlon and her six realms. Unlike the balance between the Voolings and the true bloods -beings with no mana or magic- in other species culture, the human Voolings had enslaved their true bloods counter parts, the ones who had no power other than their own will and no more rights than animals. Yet, even if the same species, that did not stop them. They would roll over themselves in the process of power. Thousands of years the Voolings had ruled over Evlin. Thousands of years later they will still exist. There is no true way to tell a Vooling apart from the rest till it’s too late and you’re stuck in a battle that you cannot overcome. They saw themselves as gods. True bloods one day made those gods bow to their knees.
A rebellion of true bloods came over the Vooling Empire that covered the majority of the continent along with its neighboring islands. Breeded to perfection and over populated in comparison due to the Voolings own work. It gave them the upper hand. Slaves that smith their weapons or crafted their magical items now turned against them. One magical item in particular, used for Voolings to control other Voolings , Soundless Stone, cancels out mana of a Vooling when being surrounded or in contact with it. It made them powerless. A item of hope.
Like all hope, all lead to the event of civil war known as “The Great Forsaken War.” Voolings lead by their King Evron against a rebellion-ist leader, Apollo Espin and second in command, my father Donminic Templiss. In the end, the True Bloods won over the now shattered kingdoms with a bloody hand. The true blood did everything in their power to erase the Vooling humans and then shifted into other species cursed with Voolings even if it meant eradicating an entire species. Humans, Elves, Dragons, Giants, Clanfolk humans with healing gifts, any fraction of mana labeled them a target. The only ones left untouched had been the Grifflins who sought refuge in the mountain chains of the north. Other Voolings hid within the True Bloods or descents of King Evron along with spared Vooling families, in the past thousand years, are chained with Soundless Stone bracelets strapped to their wrists and ankles. All for show of the war won and the little mercy the New Blood had given even with the years of their kind’s murders.
It has been a thousand years since the great Forsaken War. New kingdoms, clans, groups -and queendoms- steamed from the fallen blood. Espin, Templiss, The Clans, The Vale, and the ruins of the land of ash lay in unrest. No trust is left. No common goal outside their own rule... At times... I wish my people, The true Bloods, were still the slaves... Maybe then we would have not become the gods of death...
