A motorcyclist's life can depend on their gear. It literally is the difference between life and death for us. Most all is the helmet. Go look it up; helmets seriously reduce the risk of head and neck injuries and/or death. The same for our bikes. At any speed, something going wrong carries a severe risk of injury at the very least.
Therefore, as mad as it may sound to non-motorcyclists, we can be just the tiniest bit paranoid or worse about our gear, and our rides.
Never touch a motorcyclist's gear or bike in any way, shape, or form without their permission, even if you are another motorcyclist.
Ron is in town.
Ron apparently just had to take another look at my bike.
While in the garage, he picked up my helmet and gloves to look at them. He did not ask my permission. I only found out about this after the fact.
I am not happy.
