Hello! We have at last narrowed things down to five titles, sooooo we need you all to vote! The premise for the overall theme of the fanbook is the first piece of dialogue we hear Oz say:
“Someone once said, ‘That place is engulfed in darkness’-however, that does in no way mean there was never any light.”
These words seem to embody the entire theme of Pandora Hearts-that even among darkness, one can still find light through the strength of one’s own conviction and the love of others. In Pandora Hearts, we often see deep romanticism and beautiful images set against a dark plot and sad, daunting outcomes. Even the people are beautiful to look at, but all of them have dark trials and pasts.
Pandora Hearts reminds one of the Japanese aesthetic of transcendent, fleeting beauty, known as Mono no Aware-in English, ‘The Pathos of Things’ or ‘The Nostalgia of Things.’
Mono no Aware refers to the ache one has when they look upon something beautiful or pure, and holds to the idea that beautiful, pure things are that much more precious when they are wilting or dying out.
We hope to embody these themes through our title, so please vote for the one you like the most!
