There was a little blond boy darting about a corridor. Dressed in a lacey frock and black coat, the large bow beneath his chin was wilted, and his hair mussed from being pulled at

She too was crying. But for a different reason. Only recently had her brother been taken away from her. She didn't understand it. She was too young to comprehend and so she was thrown into her own world of turmoil. The endless asking when Oz would return. When would he come home? When would her big brother finally come back to her? Was he gone forever?
She sniffled as she pulled open the door and walked down the hallway quietly. "Hello?"She asked as she heard Vincent's voice and held her teddybear closely. "B-Big Brother? Is this where you've gone off to? Are you here? Hello?" She began to run down the hall. "This place is scary." She said to herself as she shook her head and kept moving down the hall. When she saw Vincent, she approached him carefully. "Are you alright?"
Vincent raised his head up, and seeing a strange face, instinctively hid his red eye. It didn't matter she was a child to, she go and tattle and then he be in trouble again! And Gilbert wasn't here to save him! He glared at her with his golden eye and made a sound similar to a kitten's hiss.
"You go away!" He warned, raising his free hand, backing up a few inches. Vincent saw no problem in hitting girls even if Master Jack said not to, Gilbert did because he knew girls were like adults, people who would hurt them.
She gave a pout and held her teddybear closely. "I-I was only trying to find my brother and Gil." She said in a soft voice and began opening and closing doors. "Big brother? Is this where you went? Big brother?" She asked and frowned. "Gil can't be missing too. He didn't get taken away with him." Her lower lip quivered for a second or two.
"Gil? Big brother? Where are you?" She asked and sniffled. "They promised they would play with me..." She murmured to herself. "Why are they leaving me out of their fun?"
Vincent's interest was obviously piqued at the name "Gil". He stood, wiping his eyes and reaching to, rather brusquely, grab her sleeve. He kept his red eye closed.
"Does 'Gil' have golden eyes, and dark hair?" he asked, did he dare hope Gilbert was already here? Though he would not be able to fathom why this strange girl would know him.
Oh look~ I didn't have to wait after all. <3hero_of_sabrieOctober 16 2009, 18:10:31 UTC
Jack opened his eyes when he heard the door to the room he'd been napping in slam.
Strange . . .
That's when he heard the panicked voice outside his door.
It can't be . . . Of course, the idea was entirely possible. He had met so many others here, and he had even been granted life. If that were the case then he had to go to him. Despite the groggy feeling of sleep still weighing him down, Jack sprang to his feet and ran outside the door. He looked left and right, but saw nothing but an empty hallway.
Was it my imagination or-Then he could hear the soft weeping of a child. Though sounding somewhat distant, he recognized it instantly. He turned the corner to see Vincent, as he was when he was alive, when he had been in his care, when he had called him "Master
( ... )
"Master Jack!" Vincent gasped, with his face red, his cheeks soaked, and a runny nose; he hardly looked like an angelic child. He was certainly a relieved one however. He moved to throw his arms around Jack's neck and put his face in his hair.
"Master, I was so frightened, where's Gil? I haven't been able to find him!" he whimpered, he had somehow become lost in the house, the first time he had ever done so. He already never wanted it to happen again. He never let Jack go if he could, or at least, until they found his big brother.

Jack responded whole-heartedly, returning the embrace and burying his face in the boy's neck. Jack lifted him up easily, his arms going under Vincent to support him, "Hold onto me, okay?"
He smiled sweetly, "I haven't seen your brother around here either Vincent, at least, well-not the one you're used to-" Jack realized the complication of the whole situation and tried to cover up his bringing it up in the first place, "Rather, no, I haven't seen Gilbert, but I'm sure he is safe, Vincent."
"There is a handkerchief in my breast pocket. Dry your eyes, okay?" The elder would have gotten it for him, but he was too busy holding onto him as he carried Vincent down the hallway.
"Did you just get here, Vincent? I'm sorry I didn't find you sooner."
It's so sad. D:bymisfortuneOctober 16 2009, 19:32:45 UTC
Vincent did as Jack asked, delicately taking the handkerchief and wiping his eyes. He neatly folded it and put it back in the man's pocket when he was done, like Gilbert would have done. He leaned against Jack's neck and tightened his hold as he was carried down the hall. He like to believe Jack that Gilbert was safe, but Vincent would not stop feeling anxious until he saw the other boy with his own eyes.
"I got lost Master Jack, I'm sorry. I went around the wrong corner I guess," he said morosely, recalling that awful feeling of turning around and Gilbert not being there. That rising fear in his chest he had purposely been abandoned by his brother at last. He leaned up to give his guardian a kiss on the cheek to show he was not upset at him, though his presence was a consolation prize to Gilbert's.
A strange man, just about the most terrifying thing a lost child bearing the mark of misfortune could see. He lepat back, obviously at first having the intention of sprinting away, until he noticed a similarity. His eyes narrowed as he raised a finger to point at the stranger's single eye.
"You...have the mark too," he said with a little smirk. He had never seen anyone else who had it. He frowned however, "why do you know my name?"
"I do. We met in Alice's tea room, don't you remember?" He straightens, and toys with the cane a moment, before deciding it wouldn't be particularly satisfying.
"Alice?" The name carried a palpable tone of hatred, Vincent glowered, "you know Alice?"
Vincent wiped his eyes and stood, but did not approach 'Break'. He continued to look at the stranger with a calculating expression. As if he like to tear him open and see how he worked.
"I have never met you," he said confidently, in the same tone as if he was calling the man a liar.
Curiously Alice followed the fuss the boy was making. Who could it be? The door creaked open as she pushed at the handle to reveal a little boy...a little boy that looked familiar.
"Vincent?"
Her eyes widened in surprise. There had been so many strange going on here that she really shouldn't have been...but it was Vincent. She swallowed waiting for his respond because she didn't know what else to say to him. This was Vincent...but as a boy...either way she knew she had to be careful never the less.
He bites. D:bymisfortuneOctober 17 2009, 04:12:01 UTC
"Alice?" Vincent was stunned to see her. The expression of surprise however was quickly wiped away into something far more malicious.
"What are you doing out of your tower?" he demanded as he stood, rapidly wiping his eyes. Did Jack invite her here? No! He didn't want her here! She made everything weird! He glared, which became a smirk as he realized something.
"I'll tell Glen you're out!" Not that he would because then Jack might get in trouble, but he wanted to see her beg.
Alice can bite back<3blacknredrabbitOctober 17 2009, 04:21:50 UTC
"Jack...Glen?" Alice questioned as she stared at him. "What's you problem?"
She stomped her foot on the floor, this kid was irritating...but of course he was, he was Vincent after all...and from the things Barma and Break had told them from before...the little him is just as bad as he is older.
"I came all the way there to find out what was wrong and this is the kind of treatment I get? Do you want me to close the door on you?" She asked, with her harsh demanding voice. "You can go back crying if you want you ungrateful kid."
I hope so.bymisfortuneOctober 17 2009, 15:41:37 UTC
Vincent bristled at Alice's disparaging tone. He hated her, she just said whatever she wanted and upset Gilbert and Jack. How dare she come here, she ruined everything!
"Shut up Alice, go back to your tower! Stay away from Master Jack and Gilbert!" he snarled, and that was not a request but a command. You make Gilbert unhappy and hurt Master, I'll never forgive you, you horrid girl!
