Episode 8: The One With a lot of Nothing
Dinner with Brennan, VIcki, Jamie, and Kurtis rocked. We ran by my house after because Vicki wanted her Battlestar Galactica. We ended up looking at some of my more... racy pictures before running off to Jamie's to swim. At Jamie's, we swam and then played ITG for a bit. I left because of work this morning.
Work is... Arg. I had fun dressing up today (although I wouldn't recommend putting on a skirt, leggings, arm socks, and a top hat in 80 degree weather), but man. I went with Kate most of the day to help her get pictures and to get Carnival Day names. It was a lot of fun to hang with her because, unlike Britt, she talks to me and doesn't blow me off like I'm dead weight. As per the norm, I got shafted at the end of the day. Jeremy and Britt both had to leave. Britt was going to the city and J Par needed to take his son to football practice--Tony came to visit camp during the day. So I ended up staying ten minutes late because someone had to get the photos color corrected and uploaded. I totally understand that someone needs to do that and, since I had no where to go, it had to be me. But it still really irked me. I feel like I'm constantly picking up slack for Britt. If she needed to leave right at 5:00, though she was out the door at 4:45, then she should work enough that her job is done. In all truth, my job doesn't demand me to color correct photos. Blah. Whatever. I don't mind color correcting too much; it's kind of soothing.
I bought Pocahontas and The Last Mimzy before finally going home. Allen did a Native American gathering ceremony thing at Bannerama this morning and they played Pocahontas music, so I had a craving. I forgot how bad unshaded animation can look, but it's still a cute movie. Now I kind of want The Little Mermaid. I have them as half-destroyed VHS tapes. I really want Beauty and the Beast, though. It was always one of my favorite Disney movies. Mimzy was interesting. I think I'll have to watch it again before I make any solid conclusions about it.
