Episode 5: The One Where I'm Tired
I'm dead tired. Really. I spent five hours in the pool on Saturday and Sunday for divemaster skills, and now I feel like I got hit by a horse. Of course, part of that is probably because I stayed up until 11:30 to read the last HP book. Yeah, I'm a dork. It was a good ending, I have to say. She wrapped everything up very nicely. I'm just not too thrilled with who Potter ends up with. I don't see it, still, to this day. I ought to reread the sixth book and see if that helps.
While doing DM stuff, one of the skills I had to do was a gear exchange while buddy breathing white swimming. Buddy breathing sucks. Person A takes three breaths, then hands the regulator to Person B, who then takes three breaths. The process continues. It's rather hard to trade masks while doing this AND swimming. After masks, you trade BCDs, and then fins. Dennis, my instructor, kind of tricked me into it. I told him I was nervous about it, so he said, "Oh, let's do it stationary and on our own air for practice." So I agreed. Then, since that wasn't bad, we did the exchange buddy breathing while sitting. Then he said we should practice it moving. When we got back up, he looked at me and said, "Good job, you're done with that." I sputtered a bit and was relieved. Life was good.
