Arctic Winds
So I got an instant reply to my application for a job in Alaska. This is the first positive response I've received for a job yet...and granted, I have not been guaranteed a position or have any advantage at this point, but I feel a little anxious.
What if they want me?
I would be far from my family with virtually no way of getting in touch with them for weeks on end probably. -- the job would involve me working on a fishing boat for extended periods of time, in the cold, measuring/weighing catches, reporting all finds. I think I'm comfortable with the idea of working in the cold, on a boat, with a bunch of strangers...the only thing I don't like is not having access to my family -- by phone (probably) email.
Anyway, I'm still applying to jobs, although it seems that I didn't get the zoo keeping position at the SD Zoo. bummer. I would have loved to work with birds.
they don't know what they missed out on.
