I'm a terrible journaler.

It's come to my attention that I've failed to mention an extremely significant life event on here. I blame this on the fact that I almost never think to create an actual post about big things -- just the little "while I'm thinking of it" stuff. So, yeah, Doug and I are expecting our first child! We're expecting her any day now, in fact -- I'm due ( Read more... )

Congrats! :) You sound like you're going to get like my mom soon, toward the end, she kept taking long walks at night under the moon. She knew it was an old wives tale but she was like "Anything that got you out."

There's a full moon this Saturday, and if nothing's happened by then, I'll be sorely tempted to try that! It'll be more of a waddle (or, to be really honest, a hobble) than a walk, though.

You could find a wagon and have someone pull you! Srsly, it's worth a try.

Your icon has brought me considerable good cheer.

...I just realized what I'm lacking to get this baby born. Ninety percent of babies are born in stalled elevators! I need to find a high-rise stat.

Thank you! Congrats to your sister, too -- and to you on becoming an aunt. Being an aunt is all the good stuff without the messy diapers. ;)

Wow! Congrats to both of you! *HUG* January is a good month for *birthing babies*. :) Thirty-one years ago (Dear Lord, was it really that long ago??)yesterday, I did just that ... Jen was born after 5 very short hours. I wish you the same shortness. :) From experience (OK, not a LOT of experience, but three *experiences* anyway) walking really does help. Despite that walking ... or sitting or lying down at this point ... is a monumental task! ;-D

Seriously, it's wonderful news and you'll have to post a picture of her when she arrives!

Hehe, I had to go back and look quick. :) Today would be a very nice day for her to arrive so she can share a Birthday with her Mom! Happy Birthday! :) Sean's daughter, Jackie, arrived on his birthday and Brice's daughter, Natasha arrived five days after his. Soooooo ......;D

Thank you very much! Yeah, January is a great one for babies in my family, too -- my cousin's birthday is the 7th, my dad's is the 8th, ...somebody I'm forgetting is the 11th, and my aunt's is the 12th. They were all rooting for the 9th to fill in the blank, but I'll be happy with any day soon. ;)

I've been saying that labor would be a fantastic birthday gift this year, and there's a full moon tonight, too, so I've got my fingers crossed.

Hopefully soon! ;) Cause then the really fun part comes. Granted, very little sleep. But, oh, the real joy of just watching a new baby sleep! It's an indescribable feeling that only a new parent can know! Believe me, it makes labor worth every minute. :)

When I was pregnant with Jen, because of some problems, they literally didn't know for certain when I was due. So, the date spread was Dec 20th to Jan 20th. (Back in the *olden* days when they didn't have the tools to do more accurate predicting) Anyway, Barb (very close friend) was also due, around the 20th-25th of December. We were THE Cantors for Shepherd of the Sea and Chapel on the Thames. So Father informed us that he would have a Doctor at every Mass .... just in case! ;) Barb had Brian on December 20th and Jen hung on to arrive with the Three Kings on January 9th. They used Brian for the Baby Jesus on Christmas Eve. :)
