I am not posting/responding much lately, partly because the days are packed in a positive sense - and partly because I made a huge mistake and contributed to discussions on fandom!secrets, which were tedious and endless (but I can't stop defending my case, I am way too stubborn). Now finally there is understanding on all sides, and I am a free human again. ;)
(Also, I'm caught in that enormous PW kinkmeme...)
And of course, time is taken up by being addicted to Pokémon White. <3
I do like the new Pokémon a lot, especially my team, and so it was a lot of fun to play the story through and discover the new world.
The graphics were as always a bit underwhelming (especially during fights), and I was disappointed by Team Plasma and N, but it still was interesting and enjoyable to play.
Here's my team (my Ottina has gender issues and Fine has traded nature with Wira Qocha, it seems ;):
I originally planned to call Ottina Otto, Nikola is named after Nikola Tesla, Fine (Feen-eh) is just something I found cute, Chipper (short: Chips) because it's fun, Leuchte is an older German word for "lamp" and Wira Qocha is based on the Nazca geoglyph of the Condor.
Yay for inconsistent Pokémon naming :D
Currently I have to train my team up to Lv 65, so I'm not so eager on playing right now - but I am determined.
Another game
karnimolly and I are playing at the moment is Trials and Tribulations!
We're at the last case, where apparently all the epic shit is happening, so no spoilers, please.
All in all, it was more tedious to play than AJ, which might because I adore every character in AJ to bits and pieces, but we had fun.
(Except for case 3, which was simply annoying. Rgh.)
My personal highlights!
Feenie, who was completely adorable. <3
Mia, her being kickass and having a nice character design. I do like her lots and lots.
Ron DeLite, who is so cute and likeable, and quite handsome as Mask☆DeMasque, together with his girlfriend Desirée.
Godot. Just... just... His way of bringing Phoenix out of concept. His background music, which makes me think of soft porno movies. His handsome way of dressing. His addiction to coffee. Every sentence that leaves his mouth. (I want a book "Godot says...", with quotes on how to be a real man.)
Also, Diego. Being so full of himself and such a macho makes me like him more than I should. ;)
Last but not least: Phoenix himself is so adorkable and sympathetic. I like him lots and lots. <3
I can't say I like Maya, but I also can't say that I dislike her. I guess I will always stay somehow neutral towards her.
Most of the others are sympathetic and likeable, like Gumshoe and his infatuation with Edgeworth.
So far, the relationship between Phoenix and Mia intrigues me, and I do like the way Godot is making Phoenix feel uncomfortable.
I have to read one or two fanfics on Diego/Mia I guess, because I foolishly did expect something in advance before actually witnessing those two interact in canon and did not really approve of Mia's way of stuttering his name, while he was being all macho. I'd rather have her play hard to get/talk back, and have to adjust my thoughts to canon now.
I did not forget about Edgeworth here, but as we're still playing that case, I kept this for the end. Edgeworth, oh, Edgeworth! Where do I start?
Of course, I liked young Edgeworth, mostly because of my love for his outfit.
But playing Edgeworth is much more epic, as it's an endless source for hilarity and drama. I didn't expect drama to follow him like a dark emo cloud, also he's more uptight and oblivious to actractive women or being hit on than I could ever wish for. :3
Since he appeared on screen, Molly and I have developed so many jokes about him, it's unproportional. They include a fear of strawberries (the word is similar to earthquake in German) and this piece of dialogue (translated from the German version and probably inaccurate):
Larry: "blablabla your heart is made of stone."
Edgey: "Frozen, rather. ...It is icecold." *presses hand on his chest, looking away*
... It took us a moment to realize he actually said "It is icecold here.", thus referring to the location and not to his little heart.
But that didn't stop us from letting this moment become an endless source for amusement. ;D
That's all I can say up to now - I am quite thrilled for the conclusion of the last case, and about the bitchfight that is Miles Edgeworth vs. Franziska von Karma!
