Rachel Kramer Bussel
Here's where I admit to having a spectacularly crappy memory when it comes to people. I don't remember every name & project I've ever had experience with, and that includes zines I used to carry. This is why I suck at things like Trivial Pursuit. It's nothing personal, so it never means a person wasn't awesome enough to stick in my memory banks, I just have a total swiss cheese brain.
So recently I was talking with Rachel Kramer Bussel via email about cupcakes, because she helps run a popular blog called Cupcakes Take The Cake & I shoot my friend Sheela's cupcakes nearly every Saturday, so Rachel used a couple of my photos when she posted about Sheela. The whole time I was thinking that her name sounded super familiar, but not because she's a blogger or an author (she writes popular erotica) because my knowledge of those things is recent. She ended up asking if we knew each other somehow because my name seemed really familiar to her. How funny is that? I told her it was probably either mutual friends or zines (though she's not in the Pander database as a customer/orderer). She thinks that's definitely it because she did a zine in the 90s called I'm Not Waiting (not the one by the girl in the UK), however I don't remember that zine at all. I could have carried & not even remember (I didn't check my old order book). SO do any of you remember it? I thought Ciara might since she has an awesome memory for these things & has a steamer trunk full of 90s-era zines. Or are any of you familiar with her otherwise? I hate not remembering shit like this!
