[chapter 3] Hidden motive?

Summary : One is the quiet kid in class while the other is the popular guy. How will their love life proceed as they start on the journey towards graduation.
He's that guy sitting by the window.
He sighed as he stuffed his clothes into his duffle bag. Walking towards the toilet, he grabbed his toiletries before staring at himself in the mirror.
" why, why of all people me with four girls. " he thought, ruffling his hair in the process.
He stepped out of the toilet and stuffed his toiletries into his bag. Ten minutes was all he need to check and recheck what he needed to bring. He stared at the bag sitting on top of his bed, filled with pockets of air since he didn't bring much. He took a sit by his laptop and started checking what he needed to. As expected, sensei had sent them their list of roommates as well as to-do list and their daily timetable when they're there.
Finally done checking through his inbox, he switched off his computer and headed downstairs for dinner. His mother asked him about his preparations for the trip while his father just reminded him to take care and all he wondered was how he was going to survive a 7 day study trip with 4 other girls.
That night the doorbell rang and he was greeted by the appearance of Yuto followed by Yamada, leaving Chinen and Ryutaro at the gate, bickering who should walk in first. He led them up to his room, closing the door behind and throwing his duffel bag onto the floor so that they could settle down. Of course he was shocked at their arrival, but didn't say anymore.
"So Keito, i see you've finished packing." Chinen started, pointing at Keito's oversized duffel bag. Keito nodded his head in the direction of the bag. Yamada then reached into his bag and took out a book.
"It's a good thing your bag is big. Here's a little advice for you." Yamada handed the book to Keito with a wink.
Ryutaro bend over Chinen's shoulder and read the title of the book.
"One hundred and one ways to…."
"strike a conversation with a girl!?" Yuto continued for him. "Yamada! Why are you giving him such stuff!?" Yuto snatched the book away from Yamada's hand.
"Well, since he's pairing up with four other girls we should get him prepared deshou?" Yamada retorted, snatching the book back from Yuto.
"Alright guys, just hand it over." Keito reached out his hands. Yamada placed it in Keito's hand and stuck his tongue out at Yuto.
"Keito! You shouldn't use that!" Yuto moved over beside Keito and tried to take the book away.
"It's okay Yuto, i'll just place it in my bag. Im sure Yamada took quite an effort to bring it here " Keito said softly, earning a smile from Yamada and a pout from Yuto.
And so, they spent the night talking about how Keito should talk to the girls and not feel awkward. Chinen coming out with the weirdest ideas, while Ryutaro opposing it all the time. Yamada gave better advices though not the best while Yuto just retorted overtime they gave a suggestion.
"Come on guys, it's not like Keito have a phobia talking to girls right. Why are you all fussing over it!?" Yuto exclaimed the moment Ryutaro and Chinen started their argument once more.
"Um guys, thanks for coming down today to help me but…i don't think i'll be using any of your advices anyways. I'll still be too shy." Keito said with a sad smile after Yuto spoke.
"Dakaraaa, you have the book!" Yamada pointed to Keito's bag. Chinen and Ryutaro nodded their head frantically while Yuto just tapped his feet impatiently. Just then, a knock came from the door.
"Boys, it's rather late. Don't you all have school tomorrow?" Keito's mother popped her head in to remind them.
"Ah school!!" Chinen jumped up from Ryutaro's lap before pulling Ryutaro up at the same time, rushing to get their bags. Keito's mother laughed at the two of them before reminding them once more about the time.
"Chii! It's not like you need to go to school. You top everything already!" Ryutaro pout as Chinen slung his bag over his shoulder, ready to leave the room.
"I need school to top everything!!!" Chinen said with a hint of panic in his voice, softly muttering about the homeworks that were due the next day.
"Alright, i guess it's time for us to go as well." Yamada stood up and grab his book. Yuto glanced over at the three others before standing up as well. Keito stared in confusion, not sure if they were leaving or not.
What seemed like an hour past before they managed to leave Keito's room, no thanks to Yamada's final rant about the book and the slight argument that took place between Chinen and Ryutaro about going to school early to revise for Ryutaro's math's test tomorrow.
"Well, enjoy your school trip tomorrow!" Ryutaro said grimly, trying to fight back from Chinen's grip pulling him towards the gate.
"Thanks." Keito muttered back, opening the gate for them to leave.
"Have fun! Make friends!" Yamada waved back at Keito before walking after Chinen and Ryutaro who were practically flying down the street.
Yuto continued standing at the gate.
"Yuto? You're not leaving?" Keito asked.
"Anoo…take care during the trip Keito. Don't force yourself too much yeah. Any problem you can just leave me a message or something." Yuto said rather grimly as well.
"What's wrong, it's not like im leaving forever!" Keito laughed softly, punching Yuto lightly on his shoulder. Yuto flung his body over, quickly giving Keito a hug before running down the street after the three others. Slightly shocked, Keito look after his backview before saying 'bye' to nobody and turning back into his house.

"Okamoto-kun!!!"
Keito was greeted by Yukiko flying towards him early the next morning the moment he arrived in school.
"Ohayo," he replied softly. She walked alongside him as they arrived the carpark to board the bus. Once they got on, she took her seat beside him and grinned widely at him when he turned to give her a questioning look.
"You're not going to sit with your friends?" he asked while taking out his MP3 player from his bag.
"Iie, i should make friends with you since im your groupmate deshou?" She said before reaching over to take one side of Keito's earphones.
"So what sounds do you listen to?" She asked a taken aback Keito. Keito said nothing but started playing his songs. Once everyone board the bus, they departed school towards their destination.
Yukiko probably felt bored after listening to a few of Keito's songs and passed him back his earphones before plugging in hers. Once more, Keito stared out of the window, surveying the scenery that were available.
When they reached their destination, it was already evening. Having only bread for their lunch, the class raced to check in their bags at the hostel before dashing to the nearby cafe for dinner. During dinner, they sat together in their study groups, which was when Keito met the other three girls.
"Haii, since we're all here, let us all introduce ourselves shall we?" Yukiko said enthusiastically.
It was a little weird introducing themselves since they knew each other for slightly more than two years but nevertheless, Keito started first.
"Ano, Keito Okamoto desu. Nice to meet you guys, let's work hard together." he ended with a slight smile.
"Haii, Yukiko Suzuki desu." Yukiko spoke up before turning to the next girl.
"Ano, im Yukiko too, but Yukiko Ito. I guess you can just call me Ito or something so that we'll not mix up each other's name." A soft spoken girl spoke up before pushing up her specs that was falling down her nose bridge. Keito nodded his head before looking at the next girl.
Finishing their introduction, Keito finally got to know all his group members. It was also soon that the class finished their dinner and they headed back to their hostel. Keito headed to his room and realized his roommate was Tanaka who sits behind him. Glad that one out of seven days have passed, he flopped down on his bed and took out his phone. He finished typing and sent a message over to Yuto, updating him about his day before washing up and turning in for the day.
