Have you guys ever heard of the Duck Brand Duct Tape Prom Contest? I heard about it a couple years ago & thought it was silly, I mean, who would wear all Duct Tape to prom? But guess what,
lookie how many did! My favorite is the 4th one down on the left on the 1st page b/c they made the 20s flapper look out of duct tape & that is just cool as hell ... dammit kids are clever these days!
Myrtle Beach
Okay, I will finally tell you all about my Myrtle Beach trip ... the highlights at least. :o) I had so much fun!!!
The hotel we stayed at gave us the honeymoon suite complete with jacuzzi, sitting room, & king size bed! We only paid $75 for it (it was a $325 room)! I had never had a jacuzzi bath before! It makes like a kazillion bubbles ... it was great.
The concert on Sunday night was great too. I hated the Get Up Kids tho, Thrice was really good, Dashboard was fucking awesome! We were seated up in the balcony, & we could see so well. It is so amazing being surrounded by a thousand people singing together. It sounds so corny but it really is the neatest thing :o) Dashboard played for a really long time too, about an hour and a half ... I think it was the longest set I had ever seen any band play. Anthony was really annoyed tho b/c Chris Carraba has 5 or 6 guitars and after every song someone would bring him a different guitar and polish the one he just used. My theory is that maybe his hands get sweaty ... but who really knows? Also they had this big rug that they rolled out when they were setting up that had where everything was supposed to be marked with duct tape. Even the guitar stand had a place taped off! And all the wires were taped down so neatly & everything ... Anthony got so mad about that, b/c he's used to seeing metal bands that just kinda throw their shit anywhere. The only thing that made me uncomfortable is that I felt so out of place, I had an inkling that everyone else at the concert were college beachcombers & I really don't belong to that scene. I mean for as many punky kids were there, none of them had a piercing in sight! We felt so different, and not in a good way. But once the good music started that pretty much faded away for me. All in all it was good times :o)
I guess those were the main things that happened, although everything was really fun. It was beautiful & sunny all weekend, & not as unbearably hot as it has been here in b-town. I actually would love to live at the beach despite the traffic & everything ... I would just have to leave at Spring Break b/c I would kill someone then. :o)
Today I didn't go to work, I woke up with the flu, but I am feeling better now. I haven't been sick in literally years, so it was kind of weird calling in work, b/c I NEVER do that. But it's good to just lay in bed sometimes. Sleep is so good! My mommy brought me fruit & popsicles, which was nice.
P.S. This weekend at MB we also saw Dodgeball, & I decided that I am in ♥ Vince Vaughn now. The more I see Old School the more he makes me laugh.
