It seems to me there are a few things we can do, and I hope I don't sound like I am on a soapbox while I say them.
First, you are doing the right thing by posting this... but email it to people you think should read it, but don't read LJ. Share this with people, if it offends us it will probably offend others, too. Email it to your family, especially the ones who vote Republican. Maybe someone can find articles that back this up, so instead of one article, we have multiple, to show what is happening. And if you have a website, post the link.
Also, remember, this is an election year and Dubbya is running for re-election. One thing the Bush administration has not taken from us yet is the power to vote. (Tho some people might argue that he sure tried in 2000, but then again, I feel the election was tampered with.) Read about the candidates, and not just within the 2 big parties, either. Decide who you like and on election day, get out there and vote. If enough of us get out there, maybe Jr. won't be able to cheat his way into the Oval Office for another 4 years.
Yeah, i know, but somehow, letters and petitions just seem like band-aids on a shrapnel wound. But i've started a discusion about this in my online poli sci class, maybe something will come of that. :)
