Title - Just One Kiss [1/1]
Author - Chieko (Panda Eater)
Rating - Pg
Warnings - Fluff? And very, very, very slight angst.
Pairings - Aiji x Maya (LM.C)
Disclaimers - Insert usual disclaimer here.
Summary - All Maya wants from Aiji is just one kiss.
Notes - LM.C is a band formed by Aiji (ex-Pierrot) and Maya (ex-Miyavi's guitarist). They sort of have a rock/rap/techno thing going on; it's awesome. XD
Note: I didn't do my research properly. All this time I thought Maya was from Due'le Quartz, when in reality he was simply the guitarist for Miyavi. God, I feel like an ass. (T__T) So I went back and changed some bits. Thank you to everyone who pointed this out to me. Now someone please shoot me. I demand that you do.
I figure I should try writing more one-shot things. So thus, this was born.
Aiji (ex-Pierrot) and Maya (ex-Miyavi's guitarist) are together in
LM.C (Lovely Mocochang). I srtongly suggest you go listen to some of their music.
I wanted to make this short and cute and sweet. I'm no good at trying to make people wallow in self-pity. DX
Enjoy. And feel free to leave comments/crits/general discussion/etc. XD

After leaving his current band behind, Maya wasn’t quite sure what to do with himself. Music was his life and without it he felt so empty. He thought about trying to start a new band; unfortunately, he didn’t know that many people. And all the ones he did know were in new bands, or ignoring every message he left them. Now what? Perhaps he could go into real estate…
He had prayed to whatever deities above that they would send him some sort of message.
That message came in a quiet, dark-haired package named Aiji.
The way they had met was a strange one: Maya had been at the store one day picking up a couple of cans of cat food and a carton of milk. He had loaded the items in his bicycle basket (no laughing, now) and pedaled his way out of the parking lot. As he rode home an ambulance whizzed by, sounding its high-pitched whining siren. Maya had peered over his shoulder to see the vehicle go by, quickly snapping his head back around to see where he was going. But he had not noticed a black and red head coming towards him.
BAM!!!
He pedaled into the person, the force sending him flying off his bike and into a nearby bush. Maya was momentarily stunned, his whole world spinning. He waited for his vision to focus again before he attempted to disentangle himself from the bushes. All he really ended up doing was give himself angry red scratches on his bare arms.
“Here,” said a quiet voice.
Maya blinked as a pair of strong hands grabbed his shoulders and pulled him to his feet.
“Thank you,” Maya mumbled, rubbing his scratched arms, hoping to ease the pain. His eyes darted to his marked arms, then to the cans of splattered cat food and puddle of milk on the sidewalk.
“OmyGod! My milk! Rena’s dinner!” Maya cried as he sank to his knees in front of the mess. He stared at it helplessly, mentally trying to stare it back into its original forms. Maya suddenly felt like crying, but restrained himself when he remembered the stranger standing behind him.
Sniffing, Maya shifted on his knees so he was facing the stranger. He was tall and thin with pale skin, with piercing brown eyes and an angular face. His hair was choppy and black and red- it looked like it hadn’t been washed in a couple of days, and the red bits were growing out.
“Um, thank you again. My name’s Maya,” Maya smiled weakly.
“I’m Aiji,” the stranger replied. He raised an eyebrow as he looked Maya up and down. He could tell this kid was weird, from his position on the ground (why didn’t he get up?), to his badly dyed blond hair, back to his black visor brushed off to the side (and upside down). Oh yes, this kid was weird.
“I’m sorry I nearly ran you over,” Maya laughed. He shifted his so that he was sitting on the ground now, criss-crossing his legs. Aiji raised his eyebrows again. This kid was still sitting on the ground.
“It’s okay, I can see that the ambulance was really interesting,” Aiji replied with sarcasm in his voice. But either Maya ignored it or couldn’t tell it was there, because he laughed again, throwing his head back, sounding his little lungs out.

And that was how they had met: Maya running into Aiji (literally) on his bicycle. Maya felt a little terrible for bumping into the dark-haired man, so he offered to buy him a soda and some fries at the nearest fast food joint. Aiji hesitantly accepted the offer, munching on his fries quietly as Maya talked on and on about everything from his pet kitty to the weather. Somewhere between an odd conversation about dreams featuring flying cows, they got onto the subject of music. Maya had been in a band with Miyavi (seriously, THE Miyavi?), while Aiji was from a group called Pierrot.
Both were surprised to discover that the other had been in previous bands, each leaving for thier own reasons. What’s more was that they both played guitar and were both looking for a new musical career. Aiji’s interest was peaked after this as he prodded the blond, seeing if he was able to sing. His question was answered after Maya burst out singing “Vanilla” in the middle of the fast food restaurant. Aiji slowly pushed the thoughts of a milkshake far out of his head.
Somehow Aiji had let it slip that he was looking to form a new band. Maya instantly jumped on the bandwagon. He volunteered to play guitar and sing and do whatever was necessary. Aiji slowly nodded, decided to give this band thing a chance.
That day a newfound friendship was formed.

That was months ago. Aiji and Maya had formed Lovely Mocochang (the name had something to do with a pet cow that Maya’s mother hadn’t let him keep.) LM.C for short; Aiji liked it, it was original, and the strange title would stick in people’s minds longer.
So now the duo toured with their new band, recruiting new support bassists and drummers when necessary. Maya was the happy, hyper frontman/guitartst, and Aiji became known as the silent, bad assed (other) guitarist. They became known for their black jumpsuits and multiple pins and for Maya’s weird faces in pictures and black visor.
Life was good.
Maya gained a small crush on Aiji. He would giggle and smile at him, no matter what he did, and would sneak looks at the duo-colored hair man when he wasn’t looking. He had little daydreams about how the other guitarist would cuddle with him and gently kiss him and mumble sweet nothings. It reduced Maya to a giggling, oozing mess whenever he thought of it.
And Aiji as well slowly began to see the blond as more than a friend. The kid was cute, no doubt about that. His childish antics made Aiji smile and sometime he wanted nothing more than to tackle him and smother him. He refrained from doing so, though.
Aiji was caught off guard one day when Maya asked him a very important question,
“Aiji, will you kiss me?”
The duo-colored haired man just stared at LM.C’s singer/rapper/guitarist. He blinked, then a couple more times, then a couple more times after that, till three minutes had passed. Maya was starting to get worried.
“Aiji?” the blond gently asked. "Please, just one kiss? Pretty please?"
“I can’t, Maya. I just can’t,” Aiji said with a frown, shaking his head and turning away from his band mate. He missed the pained expression that fluttered across Maya’s face.

Maya was determined not to be put off by Aiji’s rejection. Periodically he would ask him if he could kiss him, each time being denied. But he could not give up! Oh no, he knew true love would prevail.
In reality, Aiji really did want to kiss the blond-haired singer/rapper/guitarist. But he couldn’t, he just couldn’t. It was because of Kirito, his old band mate from Pierrot. He and Kirito had been lovers, enjoying every moment they were together. During lives Aiji would play his guitar, smiling, and Kirito would sing with all his heart. They would glance at each other from across the stage, giving the other a loving smile or a lusty gaze. And when they weren’t touring they would go over to one another’s houses (usually Aiji’s, as Kirito didn’t want his younger brother being corrupted by their antics.) Alone they would snuggle and watch movies together, or find some form of mischief. (cough cough)
But when Pierrot disbanded, so did Aiji’s and Kirito’s relationship. Kirito thought it would be for the best that they stopped going out. Outwardly Aiji agreed, but inwardly his heart still yearned for the singer. He still loved him; he feared that if he kissed Maya and let his crush grow into anything more, Kirito would be pushed out of his heart.
That was Aiji’s greatest fear.
So that was why he refused to kiss Maya. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to; it was because he feared to.
He thought that after a while Maya, with his short attention span, would forget about his little question and they could continue with their musical career. No such luck.
LM.C was touring in Tokyo now. It was 7 hours before the show and Aiji was lounging in the hotel room. He slouched on the couch, absentmindedly flipping through TV channels. Suddenly he felt two hands cover his eyes.
“Guess who,” said a singsong voice.
“The Easter Bunny?” Aiji joked, sensing the blonde’s gleeful expression behind him.
“Nope! Wrong, Aiji! Iiiiiiiit’s me, Maya!” Maya cried happily as he waved his hands away and doubled over the couch so he was face to face with the other guitarist.
“Hiya,” Maya smiled as he bumped noses with Aiji.
“Hello there,” Aiji smiled back. Just because he didn’t kiss Maya didn’t mean he couldn’t do other affectionate things with him.
Maya straightened himself up and shuffled to the right a little. With a loud, “Oof!” he somersaulted himself over the couch and right next to Aiji. “What’cha watching?” the blond inquired.
“TV,” Aiji replied calmly.
No duh,” Maya pouted. “I mean what type of TV are you watching?’
“Don’t really know, I’m not really paying attention,” Aiji answered truthfully.
The duo sat in silence for a couple of minutes as Aiji flipped through the TV channels.
“Hey, Aiji?” Maya asked quietly during a commercial for Bran Flakes.
“Hm?”
“Will you kiss me?’
Aiji froze. There was that question again. Oh, how he wanted to lean over and capture those perfect pouty lips of the blond, but he couldn’t. He just couldn’t.
“I’m sorry, Maya. I can’t,” Aiji replied sorrowfully, shaking his head. He could see Maya’s lip quiver.
“Why not?”
Aiji blinked. That was certainly a new question he had never heard before.
“Is it someone from your old band? I did see you kiss the singer a couple of times during lives,” Maya mumbled. “That’s it, isn’t it? You still like that guy, don’t you? I understand. I just… I just-just really like you.”
“Maya…”
“Don’t worry, Aiji,” Maya forced a smile. His eyes were a bit teary, though. “I understand, really I do. I’m sorry that I kept bothering you. I’ll leave you alone and won’t ever ask you again. I promise,” Maya said eagerly, sitting up and crossing a hand over his heart.
“Oh, Maya,” Aiji breathed. Maybe all this time he was just too afraid. Too afraid to let go of his past and move forward. He wanted and prayed hard for the band to stay together at least in his mind, if not in real life. So he tried to hang on to his thoughts of Kirito and tried to convince himself that he still held feelings for him. But it swiftly became clear that he was only fooling himself and being selfish for wanting to hang onto past experiences. And keeping Maya out of his head had become harder and harder.
Aiji decided it was finally time to really disband from Pierrot.
Maya was starting to stand up, but was pulled back down in the plush cushions when Aiji tugged on his arm.
“Wha-? Aiji-?”
Maya felt lips press against his own. Aiji was kissing him, dominating his mouth. He felt teeth nip at his lips, his chin, cheek, everywhere. With a final soft peck, Aiji pulled away, resting his forehead against the blonde’s.
“I’m sorry too. Sorry that I made you wait so long for one kiss,” Aiji whispered staring into Maya’s eyes.
“I forgive you,” Maya smiled.

And..... that' the end.
