I'm going to keep this brief since I am forced to post via my blackberry. Let me explain.
I was on a train this weekend and as I arrived at the roundhouse in Danville, I placed my laptop case on the desk on the conductor's side of the locomotive. I turned to pick up my other bag and heard a thud. As I turned around I noticed that my laptop case had fallen about six feet to the nose of the locomotive. So I stepped down and picked it up and climbed down off of the engine. As I got in the van I opened up my laptop case to get my regular glasses and out my safety glasses away and noticed that my glasses were crushed. Yeah...suckage. So I got in the van and rode to the hotel, where I proceeded to plug in my laptop and noticed that the screen was shattered. It looks normal while it's turned off, but when you turn it on it looks like a psychadelic screensaver. Yeah...further suckage. So, the next morning I called HP to see if I could get a preliminary estimate on repairs and was told that it would most likely cost more to repair it than it would to buy a new one, as there was most likely more internal damage than just the screen. So, I called my brother-in-law to get a second opinion, and he told me the same thing. Yeah...and the suckage continues.
Anyway, so when I got home on Sunday I placed an order with Dell for a new laptop and ordered a case from Pelican (which I should have done with my last laptop, as that would have prevented this whole situation). Then, on Monday I went to the eye doctor and ordered a new pair of glasses.
Laptop: $3000
Pelican case: $300
Glasses: $200
