So yes, today I reached another level of game geekness today (though, not quite as high as it potentially could've been). I actually waited in line for a game. Yes, yes, I waited half an hour before a store opened (a store that opened two hours ahead of it's normal opening time for the game) to get it. Why am I not playing it now? Well, it's installing, so I have some time. Anyway, I shall tell you some highlights of things from my morning.
1. I was early enough to get a copy of the Collector's Edition. Go me.
2. I was chatting with a couple other people in line, which was an entertaining experience, as one of them was a 40-something mother who was buying a CE version for herself, and one for her husband. She was the one to introduce the game to him. Quite fun.
3. The line by the time the store was open was around 50 some people or so. A quarter of them were girls/women.
4. The guy in line behind me had won $500 with his girlfriend from dressing up as characters from the game last halloween.
5. The same guy offered to give me a ride home, as we were all complaining about the weather, and the routes we would have to take home came up. He said that where I am was on his way, so he drove me and I didn't need to take the bus. Quite awesome.
6. Everybody I had talked to had no denial that they were nerds.
And now, it's done installing. I'm off to spend the rest of my day off in a videogame.
Adieu.
