The cottage life
Wellz... the cottage is great. So great. The bed arrived yesterday so I'm done sleeping on the floor. I can't describe how wonderful it is to open the french doors in the bedroom and look out at the nice big trees while sitting on an actual bed. Our awesome landlord says he loves the way I keep house. I think he means he likes our furniture and that the place is clean (for now). I have to keep it clean for at least four more weeks so Justin and Dana can see it at its best self. Yes, Dana will be visiting! My life is almost complete.
I'm alternately hopeful and discouraged about my job search. I got turned down for an (unpaid) radio internship yesterday, but my application for a UW job moved on to the second level of review today. Thanks to Monika for finding the job for me to apply to! I am also thinking about applying for some jobs with the Girl Scouts. I'm hoping everyone who works for the Scouts is a big stereotype so I can meet some outdoorsy, crafty, leftist lesbian feminists. With good attitudes and close-toed shoes.
Today is so sunny and nice. I'm applying for jobs but I have been taking a lunch/reading/sitting in the sun/dish-washing break for the last hour and a half. I have mostly been working on house stuff and job stuff, but I have also been reading at the awesome nearby park and watching Justin's Chinese bootlegged Queer as Folk. No TV allowed until after 7, though. Tomorrow I am going to a baby shower with Monika. She said there will be lots of food and a pool.
Finally I would like to mention my gratefulness to Will Levin, who carried large furniture on his back while going down steps. Without that guy I would be totally f'ed. What a big sweetie.
