Eloise,
To be perfectly honest, Justin did not ask me to
ask you, no. But as I have learned, it is far better to be proactive than reactive, and besides, I am hardly about to approach the girls' dormitory on anything less than prefect business - it wouldn't be gentlemanly, and this is a personal matter. A personal favour I'm doing to Justin, as he has got quite the bee in his bonnet about it now, and you know there's no telling him to stop when he gets his mind up about something. Until he changes it again, of course.
Obviously, I didn't see the note myself; but it was posted in in plain sight, and I came across two third years gossiping about it: one of whom could seemingly quote it verbatim. All I wish - all I have wished - is to save Justin potential embarassment and pain, and you can't agree with me that he's too trusting and not think he needs some kind of guidance. That isn't fair, honestly. Justin is quite confused about things as it is; the last thing he needs is someone who indulges his weaknesses as well as his strengths, willy nilly. I know you might not understand this, Eloise, but it's a male thing, all right? Secret men's business and all that.
Please, just get the note back and give it to him.
Thank you,
Ernest.
