So today has been kind of a bad day, so to cheer myself up, I'm watching and providing links for parts of the soundtrack to Brave and the Bold's "Mayhem of the Music Meister." In other languages. Despite the conspicuous lack of NPH, it's still good fun... mostly.
"Piege Noir" - FRENCH - "Death Trap". No clue what they're saying (I only know a little Spanish and even less German). Also, Brave and the Bold is apparently called "The Alliance of Heroes" in French (or something to that effect). Cool.
"Nous rend dingues" - FRENCH - "Drives us Bats." Gotta say, I'm really diggin' the sound of the French dub!! And since the French version seems to be so awesome, let's have one more from them before moving on.
"Si seulement" - FRENCH - "If Only" reprise. Is that pretty much a literal translation of the title? Looks like it. Anyway, I think this just became my favorite version of this song. Either that or the English version. I can't decide. Now I must take French lessons so I can figure out what they're saying.
"Ich, der Music Meister" - GERMAN - The opening number. Yes, he is still called Music Meister in German. German dubs tend to do that. Black Canary is still Black Canary, too. Batman is Batman wherever you go.
"Der Kerl macht uns verruckt" - GERMAN - The "Drives Us Bats" number. Sure, the cute pun is gone, but it's still my favorite song in the whole show. Also, no mention of Shark Repellant, as far as I can tell. Sigh.
"Konnte er doch" - GERMAN - "If Only" reprise. I always loved this part of the episode. It makes me grin like an idiot any time I hear it, in any language apparently.
"I'm the Music Meister" - JAPANESE - Yeah, I have no clue what it's called in Japanese, so I just put the English title. It's just as much fun as any other version I've seen, though.
"Nos Vuelve Locos" - SPANISH - "Drive us Bats". For some reason, I really dislike this version. I can't quite put my finger on why. Also, great H'ronmeer, what did they do to Aquaman's voice?! :o
"El Maestro de Musica Todos Deben de Obedecer" - SPANISH - Not crazy about this version either, but Batman sounds really pretty terrifying in this one, so I'm putting it anyway. Incidentally, does anyone else think of the astronauts from Discovery Channel's boom-de-yada commercials whenever the around-the-world montage of this episode starts playing?
And as a bonus, have some
"Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers" in German, too. Just because.
**A lot of the foreign words up there are missing umlauts and accents and stuff. I can't figure out how to do that so... lo siento. :-(
