Day 17 - Favorite quote from your favorite book

Well, currently (and this really changes all the time so if you ask me tomorow I'd probably have a different answer) the Percy Jackson books are my favorites, of which teh Last Olympian is my favorite book. But honestly? I have a lot of favorite quotes, from any book, but I'm not sure abotu this one. I thiink I'm going with this one (again, ask me again tomorow and i'll probably have a different answer)

“Not all powers are spectacular." Hestia looked at me. "Sometimes the hardest power to master is the power of yielding.”

Mostly because I love this scene with Hestia, actually I love every scene with Hestia.

Day 18 A book that disappointed you

At first I was going to go with 'Promise of the wolves' the sequel to Secret of the wolves, which I loved so much I have read it a million times. Mostly, because it wasn't as great as the first one. But I have come to the conclusion that I had unrealistic expectations for that book and it really is a good book. So instead I decided to go with the House of night series. (No offence to anyone who likes them.)

The thing is when I started readign these, and I read the first three books together because I got them for my birthday, I really did enjoy them. THey weren't anything great, but they were enjoyable and fun to read; But the more I kept reading, the more problems I began having with teh series, with the storylines, the plotholes (in my opinion), the characters, the pov's, just everything. The things that were interesting weren't explored or explored from a POV that had little to nothing to do with it, some reactions by the characters made me dislike them, even though it was obvious by the way everyone (and I do mean everyone) acted that I was supposed to be on their side and think the other one was a terrible person (he wasn't.) Some characters changed from one scene to the next with no explanation and it annoyed me. So much that I only skimmed the last two books I had (I didn't evne buy them, I borrowed them, mostly because I was hoping that it would get better.) And I'm not even waiting for the last book, I don't think I'm goign to read it.

So in short I was dissapointed by this series because it had so much potential in the beginning and then it just started sucking.
