My Birthday
Yesterday was my birthday. It was both good and bad with the bad being first so it was hard to get excited about it.
Bad:
I woke up to the sound of the cat puking. At least he jumped off the bed to actually do it.
I didn't get to have a leisurely morning and drink my hazelnut tea with cream.
Against a very long tradition I had to go to work.
J took me to Chinese food-his choice. Mine would have been Vietnamese. I felt a little bloated after dinner-shouldn't eat soy sauce.
By the time I was home again, the cat had puked 4 more times.
I made my own birthday cake when I got home since no cake was bought for me.
Good:
I had to go to work because we had our biggest day ever at our new business. I am kind of undecided on whether this is bad because it is our business and we need to succeed.
A friend called just before I made it out the door and really cheered me up. J was being pushy about me getting to work.
A friend showed up at work and brought me a box of Godiva chocolates.
Then he gave me a box of Lindt chocolates.
J gave me a charm bracelet.
J took me out to dinner.
J is going to give me a city break - a mini vacation (long weekend) in a US city but he won't tell me where.
J gave me the first box of chocolate covered heartnuts ever. The heartnuts are very new- they just started growing them here in Ontario in the last 10 years or so. It is just now making it to a commercial crop. My favorite chocolatier was chosen to cover them with chocolate. It is 75% Tanzania chocolate and then he dusts them with gold. I wish I knew what it tasted like but J has taken the chocolates and put them away somewhere.
If only I could find my chocolate stash I could have an excellent time today. I will look for it later.
