There is now a wonderful perfume in the air around here. At the beginning of spring all you can smell is manure and other fertilizers being used on gardens and landscape areas. Now you can smell the apple blossoms from all the crab apple trees in town. Soon the smell will be lilacs. White and purple lilacs are also all over town. You don't have to go over to the trees to smell the blossoms they are very fragrant and you can get a whiff of them from 30 or 40 feet away. Later, when more trees are in bloom it will be really hard to tell exactly which blossoms are the smell that you like. This also results in a phenomenon that I love later in the year. The sidewalks will be strewn with flower petals. I just love that effect.
