I find the same thing. For weeks I get silent and then I post. I do write with a bit of an audience in mind but for the most part I treat this like a diary especially of my trips. The content is to remind me of stuff but since I am thinking of an audience then I throw some extra stuff in there - like the story of the pigeons - instead of relying on the pictures I took. I am flattered that people read my stuff and comment and I have a very specific group of people who do comment and I know they have my back and are always there for me no matter what - like I am there for you. I think I am babbling so I am off to bed. I totally agree with what you said but I could never have put it into words like you did. :)
Well, although I didn't comment I did very much enjoy reading about your adventures on your recent trip to Nova Scotia (I used to live out there, and it was interesting to see it through somebody else's eyes).
Although people may not comment, that doesn't mean they aren't reading.
Absolutely and I am fine with that. I found that Lj was a great way to capture those memories so that when I go back and do some scrapbooking I have the thread and some of the thoughts or memories which escape me later have been captured. I am glad you enjoyed the posts - it was truly awesome driving around and I think I am in love with the Annapolis Valley - farm girl that I am. The tidal flats fascinate me totally.
I have got sporadic with reading LJ. I try to read it daily, but sometimes I don't have time to comment. I will have to go back and read about your trip. I want to read it, but unfortunately it happened during a busy cycle of my life.
I had a friend complain to me that I don't post enough. Personally, between work and driving I have 55 hours a week less than I did in 2009 and something had to take the hit. LJ was a great something to go.
For the record Pam, I did invite you to do things. You probably don't remember because you were busy so we didn't actually get together.
This in no way ever meant you. You tend to be one fo the people who does comment on my LJ on a regular basis.
You are right I don't remember. Except for once when we both agreed we needed to get together I don't remember saying I did not want to meet with you. I actually have a few people who have agreed that we needed to get together but we never do.
I was not complaining either. The point of my comment was that I don't expect anyone to read my Lj and I am flattered when they do because I am sporadic myself. My whole attitude towards Lj and FB is that if you want to read it, do so. It does not bother me if people don't because I write for me.
