The flu

Everyone is so worried about the flu. How do we know when its not the flu and it is H1N1?

I had a beautiful weekend planned and Thursday night a virus hit. I was so dizzy that I was bouncing off the walls and could not keep any food down. :( I started making a spaghetti sauce and had to phone my son to put everything away when he got home.

I had rented a car for the weekend and had to pick it up on Friday morning. I had booked a full day at a spa and was unsure what to do. Did I dare drive the car? What if I had an accident because I was feeling dizzy? I was sure my insurance would not cover it. I was again sick in the morning but decided to try the drive anyway. I was going to a spa in Carleton Place. Well I made it there but had not had a chance to pack food for the day. I started with a Facial which was fine because I just kept my eyes closed. It was followed by a manicure, pedicure and reflexology. The manicure and pedicure were ok but not great. I loved the reflexology as I could lay there with my eyes closed. My last treatment was a hot rock massage. I loved the massage but I am not sure if I would do the hot rocks again. What they do is massage a body part then follow up by massaging the same body part with hot rocks. Not really my thing. By the time I finished it was 3 pm and I had not eaten anything all day. She gave me a few crackers and I prepared for the ride home.

I stopped at the drugstore to pick up some epsom salts and some potato chips. When I am not feeling well chips seem to be the only thing I can keep down. I was suppose to go out but was still not feeling great so I stayed home and went to bed.

Saturday morning I was suppose to attend a women's conference "You Deserve it". I had paid for the conference but I really was not in any shape to be driving. I spent part of the day sleeping but was still feeling crappy. I was suppose to go to a Halloween party Saturday night but had to cancel since driving probably was not a wise idea. So instead I stayed home and went to bed. Sunday I thought I was feeling better so I got up and headed out to the grocery store. Wow what a mistake. I felt crappy walking around the store trying to get my brain to focus on what I needed to find.

I came home had a nap and then got some meals ready for the week. Monday I got up thinking that I was feeling better but I spent the day at work wrapped up in a sweater with a scarf wrapped around my neck. Today I wore my neck warmer on the bus and again spent the day with my scarf wrapped around my neck. My brain is starting to work better and I am not as clumsy as I was on the weekend. I hate the idea of having to leave the house but I have managed to survive the week. I have had sore glands off and on all weekend with a headache mixed in there.

I have been trying to eat healthier and homemade foods as opposed to take out. I have been drinking more hot liquids and trying to keep my throat wrapped. Hopefully soon I will feel healthy again.

tonight I have a headache so I guess its time for bed.
