So. I have been fighting the urge to read yaoi (boy/boy love) manga, eventhough the stories perked my interest. The stigma of it and all.
Last week, I gave into temptation and bought two yaoi manga. I have been hooked ever since. Apparently I am in great company as this genre is popular in the teen girl/young adult women category.
I have now read 5 books in this genre. Boy. There sure is a lot of sex-ing going on. That was unexpected. :/ The last two books I got were not heavily into the sex bit. In fact, I really like the non-sex one called "Only The Ring Finger Knows". Sooooooo romantic. Sigh.
Anyway, one of my colleagues at work was curious to see what this boy-boy love books were all about. So I handed her my third book "The Sky Over My Spectacles" to have a look.
It turned out to be the MOST explicit of all the books I got. So much penis on penis action in between the steamy pages. Of course, my other colleague who I call "Mr Pr0n" found the steamiest page. You should have been there to hear my first colleague's screams! It was hilarious. Of course, she had to show that page to everyone!!
I found the reactions amusing. :)
Odd thing though. I like reading gay men erotica. I like reading yaoi manga (different from gay men manga, so I'm told).
But I cannot watch REAL gay men stuff. No gay-related live-action/tv shows for me, thanks. Wonder why that is?
I guess I am not yet at the stage that I can comfortably accept the honest emotions of same-sex couples. Hopefully, someday that will change for me.
...Not that I want to watch porn or anything! :P
