Yo -- I'm writing a paper on social networking on LJ and I was wondering if any of you had any stories you wouldn't mind me sharing in my paper...

1. Do you feel like a leader here? If so, are you also a leader in real life? No, I am neither a leader or a follower both offline and online.

2. Do you get things going (stir up drama, give people ideas, give advice, network)? No drama, sometimes I give people ideas, I only give advice when ask, and I really don't network that much except for Girl Scout cookies and MS.

3. What do you use LJ for? To vent and get stuff out of my head.
4. Have you made any close friends on LJ? Yes
5. Have you met a lover/significant other on LJ? Yes
6. Do you have a different persona here than in RL? If so, how is it different? I'm more open on LJ and chattier, offline it takes me some time to open up et al: SHY

(thought of more as I've gotten into the paper -- talking about the strength of social ties more...)

7. Have you ever helped someone find a job or had someone help you find a job from the LJ community? Yes
8. Have you ever helped someone move / had someone help you move? Yes
9. Been introduced to a mutual virtual friend / introduced someone to a virtual friend? Yes
10. Given / been given a ride to/from the airport by a LJ friend? Yes
11. What kinds of information do you usually share in LJ? Anything that comes into my head
12. Do you feel that the information you share benefits others? I don't know, maybe.

13. How do you feel about the word "friend" being used at a verb in the LJ community (when adding someone to your network)? The word has emotional connotations even though you may not be actual friends when they are added. Do you feel that your "friends" on LJ are friends?
Some of them, not all of them.
