Visited the midwife again on Tuesday. Baby is fine, but I did not pass my gestational diabetes test this time. :( Boo. So starting soon, I will have to check my blood sugar at least five times a day and eat a special diet. Sigh. I am deeply concerned about my ability to follow said diet, given how sick I am with the nausea. The diabetes center office said the nausea could be related to my blood sugar, and set up an appointment with the doctor there, as well as the educator. So if you're wondering why I have no more time for playdates, its because I'm going to the doctor ten bazillion times a week. But, it is hopeful that maybe this doctor can help with the nausea some.
The baby is fine. Fairly active, good heart beat, no concerns from the midwife. She did say my verygross veins are not so very bad, if uncomfortable, and that usually the ones in unmentionable places get better after the pregnancy is over. Yay! And the evening nausea is mostly controlled now with the increased antacid medicine (Zantac 150), and the phenergan. It's just the mornings that are still tricksy, and those seems to be down to maybe every other morning.
Did I mention Jimmy has named the baby Tarzan? That is his official nickname now! You may refer to him as baby Tarzan! I may have worn Tom down on my first pick of names, but that remains to be seen. We're still not tellin' till the baby comes. Got to have some surprises!!!
Jimmy is doing okay. Still some wild behavior, but the combination of the reward tokens, increased positive attention since I'm starting to feel better, and more consistent and effective time outs for bad behavior is starting to help. Tom traveling is still upsetting for him, but there's not much to be done about that. Still looking for solutions for Tom's noise sensitivity - toddlers are certainly loud! Suggestions would be welcome.
Jimmy is now obsessed with the Bruins, as a result of Tom and I's outing to the game, all dressed up in our jerseys. We spent an inordinate amount of time trying to find him a bruins hat, and he is begging to go to a game with us and he also says he wants to learn to play hockey. So cute!!!
Here's a gratuitous pic of my insanely handsome and charming (when he wants to be) son!!!
