Tom's in the hospital
Tom's in the hospital. He has an extremely painful kidney stone. He had to drive himself to the ER because we couldn't leave Jimmy and he didn't want to wait for me to wake up a neighbor to come stay with him. Not that I should have been driving, either, due to the nausea medication I take at night. At any rate, it's only about 5 or 10 minutes to our little country ER, and he made it safe. They put him on some good pain meds and did a CAT scan. Apparently it's a big one, so we'll hear in the morning if he has to do some procedure or if it will pass on its own. They're going to have a urologist talk to him in the morning. Ugh. The ER doc said it was one of the most painful things a man could go through, he likened it to childbirth. It kinda sounded to me like this hurt worse, though!!!! Poor Tom.
