Poor sleep

Nov 01, 2010 20:52

Jimmy has started waking more frequently at night, and I'm really tired. I saw this video on the Sears Method today:

It doesn't involve leaving your baby alone to cry, instead you stay with them and let them know you're there, and you help them get to sleep in ways that don't involve nursing. You just have to stick with it for a week or two. There's still crying, but the baby isn't alone.

I think Tom and I are going to give this a try. I don't want to break my baby's spirit, but I do need to get more sleep! We are going to start after Tom's mom's visit, although there's one change I'm making already - I'm nursing him in the chair before the book and laying down. That way he gets used to it. Then the routine will be bath, nursing, book, bedtime (no nursing). I am so tired of being a human pacifier!!! I didn't mind it so much when it was only twice a night, but last night it was every hour. Nuts!!!
