Tom is finally home, hooray! James was so happy to see him! We laid down for a nap, and Tom was still asleep from jet lag, and James finally noticed him and started smiling and laughing and trying to get his attention! It was so cute. He napped much better today as well - two naps about two hours long. Hooray! I was all like, Tom, you really need to take him for a while so I can have a break, and Tom was like, okay, after his nap, but by the time his nap was over I was all rested, and it was time to go to the vet anyways. It was good for Tom because he had a lot of work to get done. Tom brought some chocolates from Switzerland. They are so yummy!
What else did we do today? We went for a walk with our neighbor Erin, who introduced me to one of the other neighbors, and I got to listen to them talk about schools. That was pretty interesting. Erin's nice to talk to during a walk, I think we are going to make it a regular thing.
We also had to take poor Aiko to the vet today. She lost half a pound in the past two weeks - probably freaking out because first Luna went away and then Tom. Poor kitty. Her ears and skin are looking a bit better, and the polyps in her ears are apparently shrinking, so it looks like we've found a better food for her allergies. This cat is allergic to everything! The food is expensive, but if it keeps her from going to the vet constantly for her ears and skin, then it's worth it.
Speaking of expensive, between the $400 car bill and the vet bills and the plumber we are just flat out broke. I have a $20 bill to my name, and Tom just spent his last $20 on Chipotle for dinner. It sucks!!! The first hockey game of the season is Saturday and we don't have any money for a sitter. I'm so bummed. The next set of games is Oct. 21 and 23, and then I'll be out of town for Cindy's baby shower. And after that Tom's mom is coming into town. Not that I would chose hockey over family, but the timing is just sad. We might can go to a game on October 28th, assuming we have the money for a sitter. Our current sitter is moving away, so we're going to have to find a new one. *sigh* At least James can come with us to afternoon games! The first one of those is in November, but it'll be worth the wait. I bet he loves hockey games!!!
