1. Get My Driver's License
I am quite positively sick of not being mobile like the rest of the modern, developed world is. Getting my driver's permit was a good first step, but I kind of would like to be able to drive without a chaperon.

2. Get My Certifications
Really, there's no reason I shouldn't already have my A+ and CCNA certs, especially ( Read more... )

I hopped onto that DDR link there, wondering what I'd see.. and it really goes to show that if you don't play the game, it's just a background track with coloured lights floating across the screen. That said, moving my body across a mat seems like a lot more fun/productivity than holding a plastic guitar and pushing buttons on it.

I honestly think that why Guitar Freak Hero/Rock Band has become a household name whereas Dance Dance Revolution remains fairly niche, is because guitar games do not make as many physical demands of the player.

You're probably right, though I suppose the Rock Star fantasy is more popular than the Dance Star fantasy. If you ask me though.. ah, forget it, you've heard it before.. I've got only negative things to say about Guitar Hero and the like. :P

Oh don't get me wrong, I do find Guitar Hero fun. I rather like rhythm games in general, nothing but love for Dance Dance Revolution, Beatmania, Guitar Freak/Hero/Rock Star, etc. Just that I can see why the ones that require less exertion would be more popular.

Ah, I didn't get you wrong.. that's what I figured - or remember. I don't think the combination of physical activity and looking at a screen would go over well with me either, come to think of it. I think I'd end up throwing up. Maybe if I'd team up with someone. Say.. you'd watch the screen and time yelling me the directions/colours/shapes, and I'd maintain the same response time. A fascinating teamplay experiment that'd end in disaster, probably. :D
